Remote Control Functions
The remote control boasts several useful features. For instance, there is an auto-land feature that allows the helicopter to land automatically. The mode button, when pressed above 30 meters, enables the helicopter to go inverted. It also has a low visibility mode with sensors to detect obstacles underneath. The GPS mode is the primary mode for flying.
Flight Controls
Controlling the helicopter is straightforward with the remote. The auto land feature makes landing simple, while the mode button offers additional control options. The GPS mode ensures stable flight, and the low visibility mode is handy for navigating in challenging conditions.
Fight Wind and Return to Home
This thing essentially is going to be able to fight wind, which is a beautiful thing great for beginners, and then we have a return to home function. So if you’re flying away – and you don’t know where you are – you hit – that this helicopter is coming back home.
Varied Flight Modes
Now lock our rotors unlock our rotors. We have auto mode, which means that you could fly this thing like a typical helicopter. You, oh I’m, sorry auto mode is going to be a GPS mode where it’s holding its position manual mode is where you’re going to have full control and be able to fly this thing, like a helicopter now over here, you’re going to have flight modes figure eight! If you hit that, while you’re in flight and let go of all the sticks, the helicopter is automatically going to fly a figure, a pattern same thing here. If you go down it’s going to automatically fly a circle, so let’s see see on the screen, it tells us we have seven signals, seven GPS signals.
GPS Signal and Takeoff
I believe we need like 10 to take off so let’s. Give this a second we’ll see if we get some more and we’re going to take off. You see we have 10 GPS signals, so that should be good. We are in GPS mode we’re going to unlock our rotors. We are going to go. Both sticks down to the left and to the right so that’s going to start our blades, let it spool up we’re going to lift.
GPS Mode and Controls
Oh. That thing got quick now. This is my first official flight with this one, so I just want to show you guys kind of what my hands do, so we dont have GPS locked just yet cuz its still drifting, so give it a second 12 13 signals should be good now lets see, While Im in GPS mode thats our Rudder, we got a left Rudder, we got a right Rudder, we we got forward, we got backwards, we got left and we got right. Im going to keep it low for a second it just kind of flyed around.
Stability in Windy Conditions
Like a helicopter super scale, looking super cool guys its windy out here. It is raining right now. I have full uh full confidence in this thing with GPS, these helicopters are able to fly in heavy heavy winds. Ive actually hit these things with leaf blowers with no issue.
Orientation and Ease of Flying
The reason Im going to say that theyre easier to fly than RC drones, cuz, a lot of you guys, are going to be like theres no way a helicopter is EAS EAS to fly than a Drone it has the same exact technology that a drone does, and the only difference is that, when youre flying a drone, you rely on the lights for your orientation, where this helicopter it looks like a helicopter, so youre never really going to forget your orientation.
Modes and Demonstration
So lets go up, feel it out a little bit. Show you some of the cool modes.
Inverted Flying Mode
This RC helicopter can perform inverted flying with just a press of a button. The pilot demonstrates how the helicopter automatically flies upside down without much effort. This feature allows for more advanced maneuvers without the need for complex control inputs.
Figure Eight Mode
Another impressive feature of this RC helicopter is the figure eight mode. By selecting this mode, the helicopter can automatically fly in a figure eight pattern without the need for manual control. This allows the pilot to focus on other aspects of flying, such as filming or maneuvering another helicopter simultaneously.
Circle Mode
The circle mode feature of this RC helicopter allows it to fly in a circular pattern with minimal input from the pilot. This hands-free flying mode can be particularly useful for creating dynamic aerial shots or when flying multiple helicopters at the same time. The pilot demonstrates how easy it is to activate and control the helicopter while it flies in a perfect circle.
The Benefits of Flying an RC Helicopter
One thing that stands out when flying an RC helicopter is its ability to circle effortlessly. The way it keeps the nose in allows for smooth maneuvers, making it ideal for capturing footage while flying low to the ground. This feature is especially handy when you want to film yourself, adding a unique perspective to your videos.
Auto Land Feature
The auto land feature on an RC helicopter is another convenient function that makes flying easier and more enjoyable. By flying away from yourself and activating the Return to Home feature, the helicopter will navigate back to its takeoff point with precision. This is particularly useful in windy conditions, as the helicopter can fight against strong winds to safely return to the pilot.
Accurate Landing
With the ability to land within a few feet of its takeoff point, an RC helicopter provides a level of accuracy that is unparalleled. The precision landing ensures that you won’t have to worry about overshooting or missing your designated landing spot, making the flying experience stress-free and enjoyable.
Easy to Control
Switching between GPS mode, auto mode, and manual mode on an RC helicopter is a straightforward process that allows the pilot to choose the level of control they prefer. Whether you’re a beginner looking for stability or an advanced pilot seeking full manual control, an RC helicopter offers versatility and ease of use for all skill levels.
Manual Mode vs GPS Mode
Now you see how it kind of drifts a little bit that’s because the wind is playing a factor, but in manual mode, you’re going to have a lot more speed and control of the helicopter to fly it. If you’re interested in becoming a hobbyist and actually flying an RC helicopter, then fly it in manual mode to really figure out how to fly it.
The Ultimate Beginner Helicopter
You could fly the RC helicopter in GPS mode like a drone, but to truly experience flying an RC helicopter as it should be, manual mode is the way to go. Even though you can’t shut off the gyro and fly it like a 3D helicopter, it is still the perfect choice for beginners.
Bright Lights and Cool Design
One of the advantages of flying an RC helicopter is the beautiful design it comes with. The super bright lights add to the aesthetics of the helicopter, making it a joy to fly and watch in action.
Auto Mode Feature
Switching back to auto mode, you can see how the GPS locks in, allowing you to let go of the remote with full confidence that the helicopter will hold its position. This feature is great for showing off the helicopter’s stable flight to others.
The Best Looking and Most Durable Option
Among the different kinds of RC helicopters available, the Apache stands out as not only the best looking option but also the biggest one with the most durable landing gear. This durability is a significant advantage when it comes to flying and landing the helicopter safely.
Long Flight Times
One of the key advantages of flying an RC helicopter like the Apache is the extended flight times it offers. With a decent amount of flying time, you can enjoy longer flights without having to constantly worry about recharging the battery. This allows for more uninterrupted flying fun.
FPV Camera for Added Realism
Another great feature of the Apache RC helicopter is the inclusion of a first-person view (FPV) camera. This camera allows you to experience the thrill of flying from a realistic perspective, immersing yourself in the action as if you were really piloting the helicopter.
Analog vs. Digital Goggles
While the FPV camera that comes with the Apache is analog, it may pose a challenge for pilots who use digital goggles like DJI goggles. However, with a bit of ingenuity, it is possible to overcome this obstacle by finding alternative ways to capture and stream the footage from the FPV camera.
Flying FPV
So you will be able to fly this thing, fpv, just a cool thing man. You know, I don’t know too many people that are flying that way, but it’s a nice option to have, in my opinion, when you have something that looks this good. You want to watch it from the floor. It just really is beautiful.
Control Features
Now let’s go full power up right, I’m just going to knock full power. Show you the climb, decent climb, not like a crazy, crazy, powerful climb, and it just stopped itself. Why is that? Oh, you know what I’m not in GPS mode. Oh, I am in GPS mode. Why did it stop itself Auto GPS? All right let’s bring it down now.
Rate Adjustment
Let me show you high and low rates cuz. It also has high and low rates on this remote. Now I just flew it exactly how it came out of the box. You know I didn’t read the manual, I didn’t do anything, I just kind of sent it. So we are in low rate right now, so that’s low rate right still pretty fast in low rate. Now let’s hit High rate and see what it does in high rate, yeah it’s a lot faster in high rate, you can see the pitch of the helicopter.
Flight Limitations
Just kind of, you know, it’s a lot more now that light up top is blinking red, so that’s probably has something to do with why we can’t go higher than we’re going right now, Music now, just looking at the remote so I’m in GPS mode, I’m in auto Mode I don’t know oh it’s our battery.
Battery Management
Our battery is, I guess, it’s a certain percentage. You’ve been up for 10 minutes trying to land itself its Auto Landing right now, I’m not holding the remote. You know that’s weird because it says we have 50 on this. So that would explain why I wasn’t letting us go a certain height, so that’s funny. I mean, not a bad feature though, right? When your battery is low, it’s automatically going to limit how high you can go.
Flight Duration
Let me verify that’s actually what was happening here because I do have my other battery in the pocket now. How long were we in the air for, do you know? 10 minutes, so that was a 10-minute flight. That’s pretty good. Shut the remote off, turn the remote back on, slide our new battery in, power up, got to hold it longer. There you go, now we’re in.
Indicator Lights
Guys, look at the lights on this thing. This right here is going to be your go-to guide. Everything on here. This light is going to tell you exactly what’s going on with the helicopter. It still says we have 19 GPS signals. That’s a plus. Let’s get this thing back in the air.
Battery Management (Part 2)
Alright B sticks out, come here. I’m going right up. Yep, that was our problem, low battery. So when your battery is getting low, it’s not going to let you go to a certain height now. As I said man, it is windy out here. I’m perfectly comfortable flying this thing above the tree line.
Orientation
You see it’s a helicopter, you’re not going to lose orientation. You know exactly which way this thing is at all times, unlike a drone where you rely on lights to tell your orientation. The four-bladed helicopter is a little bit different, making it easier to know which way you are at all times.
Hobby Enthusiast
This thing is super cool. The obsession with helicopters is real, with more reviews on various helicopters. Whether it’s GPS or non-GPS, 3D helis or regular ones, the enjoyment of flying these machines knows no bounds.
Versatility
The RC helicopter offers high rates, low rates, GPS mode, auto mode, manual mode, and a ton of other modes for autoflight. The ability to switch between different modes makes flying easier and more enjoyable.
Flight Controller Technology
One of the fascinating aspects is the inclusion of a flight controller in these tiny helicopters. This technology allows for precise control and stability during flight, making it easier for both beginners and experienced flyers to operate the RC helicopter.
Benefits of RC Helicopter
Actually, you know what let’s go up high I’m going to let it Auto Land I’m not going to do return to home. So remember this switch right here. If you hit it down it’s Auto Land I’m not touching nothing, it’s going to bring itself in. Oh, is that also return to Music home, you’re going to hit the roof yeah you’re it’s using the light off. I got to be honest. That was pretty close. You ready she’s over you m these things get a big plus for me.
Technology and Ease of Use
Now they are a little bit on the expensive side, but you’re getting a lot of technology for your money, so GPS helicopter that anybody can fly remote helicopter two batteries. The case that I showed you guys in the beginning, not exactly sure of the price, and I don’t even want to say it on the screen, because Banggood lot of times fluctuates the prices with sales and stuff like that.
RC helicopters provide a simpler and easier flying experience compared to drones. With manual mode for better control and the ultimate beginner-friendly features, flying an RC helicopter can be a rewarding hobby for enthusiasts of all ages. So why not give it a try and experience the thrill of flying an RC helicopter for yourself!
