My next YouTube video to bring to you, and I got a message on my mobile phone from a good friend of the channel Noby green. To tell me that there has been a DJI Fly App update for the DJI RC2 controller – this is version 1.3.5. In this video, I will run through this update, see if there is anything new, go for a short test flight with the DJI Mini 4 Pro to check if it’s working okay, and come to an evaluation at the end.

Recently, DJI released an update for their DJI Fly App version 1.13.5, specifically targeting the RC2 controller issue that many users were facing. Let’s delve into the details of this latest update and see if it has indeed resolved the problem.

When DJI launched the last update on this controller 1.3.4, many users complained that they did not receive the update. DJI seemed to have not pushed the update to all controllers. I showed in my last update review video how to manually push the update. But for those who missed it, you can check for updates by going to the home screen on your controller, clicking on profile, then about, and finally checking for updates.

    Downloading the Update

If the update doesn’t pop up on your screen, you can go to your controller’s home screen, click on profile, then about, and check for updates. The latest version, 1.3.5 should appear if it’s available. Simply download it and hit the install button. Your controller will restart, and you will be updated to the latest version.

    Testing the Update

After updating to version 1.3.5, it’s important to test if everything is working correctly. Go for a short test flight with your DJI Mini 4 Pro to ensure that the update didn’t cause any issues. Check if all the functions are working as they should and if there are any improvements or new features with this update.

Today, we are diving into the latest update of the DJI Fly App, version 1.13.5. This update promises to fix the RC2 Update Problem that many users have been facing. Let’s explore the improvements and enhancements that come with this new version.

    Testing the Update

After installing the DJI Fly App 1.13.5, it was time to put it to the test. The update seemed to address the RC2 Update Problem effectively, allowing for a smoother and more reliable connection between the drone and the remote controller. Testing the app in both manual and auto mode showed positive results, with no connectivity issues experienced.

    Ocusync 4 Technology

One of the standout features of the DJI Mini 4 Pro is its Ocusync 4 technology. Operating on the 5.2 GHz frequency, this technology provides a stronger and more stable signal, especially beneficial in crowded urban areas. The clarity and consistency of the image transmission, even in low light conditions, showcase the effectiveness of Ocusync 4.

    Enhanced Night Mode

Although the image quality was already impressive, the DJI Fly App 1.13.5 offers an enhanced Night Mode option for users. By simply toggling the setting, users can optimize their video output for low light environments, ensuring even better visibility and clarity during night flights. This option adds another layer of versatility to the Mini 4 Pro.

    Overall Performance

Throughout the testing process, the DJI Fly App 1.13.5 proved to be reliable and efficient. Flying the drone while recording a voiceover showcased the app’s stability and functionality. Features like Quick Shots also performed seamlessly, demonstrating the advanced technology integrated into DJI products.

The Issue with DJI Fly App 1.13.5

The latest update for DJI Fly App, version 1.13.5, has caused some problems for users who have RC2 controllers. The update introduced a bug that prevented the RC2 controller from connecting to the app, making it impossible for users to control their drones.

The Solution: Updating to Fix RC2 Update Problem

Fortunately, DJI quickly realized the issue and released a fix for the problem. Users who were experiencing the connectivity issue with their RC2 controllers simply needed to update their DJI Fly App to version 1.13.6. This update resolved the bug and restored functionality to the affected devices.

    Testing the Fix

After updating to DJI Fly App 1.13.6, users were able to successfully connect their RC2 controllers to the app and regain control of their drones. The update also addressed any other minor issues that users may have been experiencing, providing a smoother overall experience.

    Enhancements and New Features

Aside from fixing the RC2 connectivity problem, DJI Fly App 1.13.6 also introduced some enhancements and new features. One of the notable upgrades was the improvement in the countdown feature when initiating quick shots. The app now provides a more accurate countdown before executing the desired shot, enhancing the user experience.

The DJI Fly App 1.13.5 Update

Okay, so let’s just fly on a little bit further. Then shall I head out this way. Yeah let’s head out this way and then what we’ll do is we’ll just execute a little return to home, just to make sure that the Drone is doing what it should checking sport mode.

    Improved Speed and Performance

As you can see, we’ve got that increase in speed. If we click back to C smooth mode, we’re dropping right down, it should be about 6 m per second. I think uh let’s see what it ends up. As oh 6.5. I think we’ve got a little bit of a tail wind there. There we go that’s 6 m/s really really cool and, as you can see, the picture quality is just utterly Fantastic.

    Enhanced Return to Home Feature

Look how bright everything is, even though we’re severely losing our light and we’re underexposed, absolutely fantastic from this drone, so let’s just go ahead and hit that return to home return to home.

    Adjusting Altitude Settings

As you can see there, the Drone is just going to continue on. The reason why we haven’t rose in altitude is because our return to home setting is actually set at 60 M, so it was already flying at the same altitude so let’s just let the Drone come back to us, absolutely fantastic piece of Kit.

    Control and Speed Features

This is now what many people don’t actually notice. If you do push forward on the sticks, you can actually increase the speed of your return to home. If I let go of the sticks, it’s going to return back at that 8.
