Introduction
The world of drones has been rapidly evolving and improving over the years. From larger and more powerful drones used for professional photography and videography to smaller and more affordable options for beginners, there is a drone out there for everyone. One such drone that has caught the attention of many is the Beta FPV Pavo Pico, the world’s smallest 4K FPV Cinewhoop drone. In this article, we will delve deeper into the features and improvements of this drone, as well as its price cut.
Pavo Pico FPV Cinewhoop Drone Unboxing
The Pavo Pico drone from Beta FPV has arrived for review and testing, and I’m excited to see if it lives up to all the hype. Let’s dive into the unboxing experience together and see what’s inside.
Drone Accessories
First things first, it’s important to note that the Pavo Pico does not come with the DJI 03 air unit. This is something you will need to purchase separately and install into the drone. Unfortunately, it is not included in the package. However, once you have it, we’ll be installing it later on.
Moving on to the drone itself, the Pavo Pico is a small-sized cinewhoop. It’s incredibly compact and comes pre-installed with TBS. If you want the TBS installed, there may be an additional cost. Now, let’s open up the box and see what’s inside.
What’s Inside
Upon opening the box, we can see that the Pavo Pico comes with a battery. This is a nice inclusion for those who may not have the appropriate-sized batteries on hand. Additionally, there is an antenna and some adapters included. We will explore further details about these later.
Furthermore, the package contains a protector for the DJI 03 air unit. This is a useful accessory to have, as it can help protect the unit during flights. Additionally, we have some extra propellers, which always come in handy in case of any accidents. And finally, we have two frames, with one likely being a spare in case of any damage to the original frame.
The Drone Itself
And here it is, the star of the show, the Pavo Pico drone itself. The design is sleek and compact, which makes it perfect for capturing impressive aerial footage. With the DJI 03 air unit installed, this drone has the potential to deliver stunning 4K FPV flight experiences.
Overall, the unboxing experience of the Pavo Pico has been promising so far. With all the necessary accessories included, it’s clear that Beta FPV has put thought into providing a complete package for their customers. Now it’s time to install the DJI 03 air unit and put the drone to the test.
The Tiny Drone
If you guys can see just how tiny that drone is. It is very, very tiny, and probably honestly in the camera, it does not serve it justice, so let me go grab a um, fullsize quad. So give me one second.
A Size Comparison
So in comparison, this is the G RC Mark 5, as you can see its a lot bigger than this little guy here. That is a much smaller drone thats, pretty impressive that they both carry the 03 air unit. As you can see there, this huge thing versus this little thing, so this this is going to be fun, were going to get this thing put together and were going to fly this sucker around and see how much fun this thing can be granted Im.
Putting it Together
Pretty sure that this doesnt have as much power as the get RC Mark 5, but I bet its a lot of fun to fly around so lets get this thing put together. So I did end up taking the antenna off of the DJI 03 air unit um because it does come with its own antenna granted. This is the antenna that comes with the DJI 03 air unit and its Im sure this honestly is better um, but for this situation I dont think we are going to want to use that just because of the weight were going to want to try to save.
Extra Antennas
As much weight as possible, so it looks like they do – include uh some antennas inside this box here or this bag.
Upgrading the Beta FPV Pavo Pico: World’s Smallest 4K FPV Cinewhoop Drone
Replacing the Antennas
Upon inspecting the bag that came with the Beta FPV Pavo Pico drone, it seems that there are antennas inside that are more preferable to use instead of the ones from DJI. The reason for this is the weight savings that can be achieved. To proceed with the antenna replacement, let’s take them out of the bag and assemble the drone.
Once the new antennas are attached to the 03 air units, we can proceed with putting the frame together. The small antennas fit perfectly into the designated holes in the frame, ensuring a secure fit. With the antennas in place, the Pavo Pico is now ready for the next step.
Attaching the DJI 03 Air Unit
Now comes the process of attaching the DJI 03 air unit to the frame. To maximize stability and reduce vibrations, the manufacturer has included rubber grommets that need to be installed. These rubber grommets play a vital role in absorbing vibrations generated by the quadcopter. Without the grommets, the drone may experience instability during flight, affecting the quality of the footage captured.
Once the grommets are securely in place, you can proceed to attach the DJI 03 air unit to the Pavo Pico. However, before finalizing the installation, it is recommended to plug in the necessary cable into the 03 air unit. Doing so at this stage will prove to be easier than when the unit is fully attached.
Securing the Screws and Rubber Bushings
To ensure the overall structural integrity of the Pavo Pico, it is important to properly secure the screws and utilize the rubber bushings. These rubber bushings act as a cushion between the screws and the frame, further absorbing any vibrations and preventing damage to the delicate components inside the drone. By carefully installing the screws and placing the rubber bushings between them, you can enhance the longevity and performance of your drone.
With the screws and rubber bushings installed in their designated positions, the Beta FPV Pavo Pico is now ready to take flight. The fine-tuned assembly process and the use of upgraded antennas and vibration-absorbing grommets ensure a smooth and stable flight experience. This, combined with its compact size and 4K FPV capabilities, makes the Beta FPV Pavo Pico an excellent option for capturing cinematic footage from exciting new perspectives.
Installing the DJI 03 Air Unit
Installing the DJI 03 Air Unit into the drone’s cage can be a bit tedious. The process involves screwing in four screws onto the cage, securing the air unit in place. However, the real challenge lies in installing the bushings onto the unit. This can be quite a hassle and not something one would want to do frequently. It requires some patience and finesse to get it right.
It’s important to note that there are small wires inside the cage. When installing the cage, one must be careful not to let the screws go on top of these wires. If the wires get crushed, it can lead to potential damage and require rewiring and soldering. So, it’s crucial to keep an eye on the positioning of the screws during this step.
Attaching the Camera
Once the air unit is securely mounted, the next step is to attach the camera to the cage. This involves removing the four screws from the camera on the DJI 03 air unit. After removing the screws, it’s time to determine which screw is best suited for mounting the camera onto the cage.
Troubleshooting and Testing
Once everything is in place, it’s time to get out and fly the drone. However, it’s important to resolve any potential issues before taking off. Check all connections and ensure that everything is properly secured. Make sure the camera is correctly attached to the cage and that there are no loose wires or components that could cause problems during flight.
After confirming the setup, it’s time to take the drone for a test flight. This is where the true performance of the Pavo Pico drone can be evaluated. The 4K FPV capabilities of this cinewhoop drone offer a unique and immersive flying experience.
Introduction: The New and Improved Beta FPV Pavo Pico
DJI 03 Air Unit and Attachment Concerns
The DJI 03 air unit has been successfully attached to the Pavo Pico, although there is a small issue with the attachment. With only one screw holding it in place, the air unit tends to move around a bit. This can be quite frustrating, but unfortunately, there isn’t much that can be done about it. However, despite this minor setback, it’s time to test out the flight capabilities of this drone.
Tilting for Fun
The tilt angle on the Pavo Pico seems to be just right for an enjoyable flying experience. It provides enough forward motion to keep things exciting and offers a good balance between stability and agility. Especially for aerial photography enthusiasts, this level of tilt can bring a whole new dimension to capturing the perfect shot.
Fragile Prop Guards
One thing that seems to be lacking in the design of the Pavo Pico is the strength of the prop guards. While they serve their purpose of protecting the propellers, they don’t appear to be the most robust. It’s evident that they could easily break upon impact, leaving the drone vulnerable to potential damage. This is definitely something to keep in mind, especially for those who tend to have frequent crashes.
Minimalistic Design and TBS Antenna
Apart from the DJI 03 air unit and the prop guards, there isn’t much else going on in terms of the drone’s design. It boasts a simple yet sleek appearance, with a focus on functionality rather than unnecessary frills. The TBS antenna is a prominent feature, ensuring a strong and stable connection during flights. It’s always reassuring to have a reliable antenna that can withstand various flying conditions.
Easy Prop Replacement
Breaking a prop is inevitable for most drone pilots. However, with the Pavo Pico, replacing a damaged prop is a straightforward process. The props are pressure fit, meaning that they can be easily removed by twisting and pulling simultaneously. This hassle-free method allows pilots to quickly get back in the air and continue their flying adventures without wasting too much time on repairs.
The Design
The Beta FPV Pavo Pico is an impressive drone that has recently received an upgrade. One of the most interesting features of this drone is its unique design. The props on the Pavo Pico are held in place by pressure rather than screws. This design allows for easy removal and replacement of the props. To remove a prop, all you need to do is pull back and twist it until it pops off. Putting the prop back on is just as simple – line up the holes, push, and it will click back into place. While some may prefer screws for easier prop changes, the pressure fit design is still efficient with a little practice.
Getting Ready to Fly
Now that we have discussed the design, let’s move on to setting up the drone for flight. First, we need to connect the drone to a computer to prepare it for flight. Once it is connected, we can then take it outside and start flying.
The Flight Experience
The flight experience with the Beta FPV Pavo Pico is exceptional. This drone is a 4K FPV Cinewhoop, which means it offers high-quality video and a smooth flying experience. The 4K resolution allows for stunning aerial footage, making it perfect for capturing those special moments from above. Whether you are a professional filmmaker or simply an enthusiast, the Pavo Pico will not disappoint.
The Price Cut
Now, let’s talk about what makes the Beta FPV Pavo Pico even better – the price cut. Beta FPV has recently reduced the price of the Pavo Pico, making it even more accessible to drone enthusiasts. This price cut allows more people to experience the thrill of flying a high-quality 4K FPV drone without breaking the bank. The affordability of this drone, combined with its impressive features, makes it an excellent choice for anyone looking to venture into the world of FPV drones.

While the build quality of the Beta FPV Pavo Pico is not top-tier, it is important to consider the price point of the drone. At its affordable price, it is expected that the build quality may not be on par with more expensive options. However, this does not mean that the drone is poorly constructed. It still maintains a decent level of durability and functionality.
Battery Life
One area where the Beta FPV Pavo Pico falls short is its battery life. Unfortunately, the drone’s flight time is relatively short, lasting only about 2-3 minutes at most. This limitation can be a downside for users who want longer flights without frequent interruptions for battery changes. It is worth noting this aspect before purchasing the drone, especially for those planning extended flying sessions.
Minor Gripes

The Missing Component
This thing, and it isn’t really Beta FPV’s fault, is that it doesn’t come with a DJI 03 air unit. The drone itself is wonderful, but the DJI 03 air unit is quite pricey. Therefore, this significantly increases the overall price of the drone. So, now you’re looking at a drone that costs around $300 or even more. At this point, you have to ask yourself, is this little tiny FPV drone really worth $300 to you?
It Depends on Your Needs
The worth of the Beta FPV Pavo Pico drone ultimately depends on the person and what they want out of their drone.
