The Syma X200 Drone comes in a compact carrying case, which is a pleasant surprise. Upon opening the case, you will find the drone neatly tucked inside. The top of the case is transparent, allowing you to see the drone even without fully opening it. The drone itself is relatively small and foldable, making it convenient for travel and storage. The dimensions are smaller than expected, and its compact size adds to its appeal.

    Controller

The carrying case not only holds the drone but also doubles as the controller. This feature is practical and eliminates the need to carry a separate controller. The design of the controller is sleek and user-friendly. It is easy to navigate and control the drone with the buttons and joysticks provided.

    Accessories

Inside the plastic bag included with the drone, you will find some extra propellers, a charger, extra screws, and a screwdriver. The inclusion of these accessories is a nice touch from Syma, as it ensures that you have everything you need to keep the drone in optimal condition. The extra propellers are especially useful, as they are often prone to damage during flights.

    Charger Design

One aspect that could be improved is the design of the charger. It features small pins, which can be challenging to connect and may require some patience. While the charger does its job efficiently, a more user-friendly design would be appreciated. Nevertheless, charging the drone is a simple process once you have successfully connected the pins.

In conclusion, the Syma X200 Drone is a compact and foldable drone that comes with a convenient carrying case. Its smaller size allows for easy transport, while the inclusion of a controller within the case adds to its practicality. The additional accessories provided by Syma ensure that you have everything you need for a seamless flying experience. While the charger design could be improved, overall, the Syma X200 Drone offers a great combination of portability and functionality.

    The Charging Option

The Syma X200 drone offers a convenient charging option, but it does have its drawbacks. The charging process involves inserting the drone into the charger, which may cause some concern about bending the pins. Many users would prefer a charging system that is simpler and less prone to damage.

    Battery Requirement

The drone requires two AAA batteries, which are not included in the package. To access the battery compartment, you need to remove the back cover of the controller using the provided orange screwdriver. Once the cover is off, you can insert the batteries and secure the cover back in place.

    Pairing the Drone and Controller

To pair the drone with the controller, you must first turn on the controller by pressing the button located on the side. Then, you need to turn on the drone by pressing the button on top. The drone will flash to indicate that it is ready to pair. To establish the connection, simply push the controller’s joystick up and down, which is a standard process for many Syma products.

    Taking Off

To initiate takeoff, push the joystick up on the controller. This action will make the drone ascend into the air. The drone’s controls are responsive and easy to handle, providing an enjoyable flying experience for users.

    Flight Performance

The Syma X200 drone offers stable flight performance, allowing users to navigate it with ease. Its responsive controls make it suitable for both experienced drone enthusiasts and beginners. However, it is important to note that the drone’s flight time is relatively short, averaging around 7-8 minutes per charge. Therefore, it is recommended to have spare batteries on hand for extended flight sessions.

    The Automatic Takeoff Function

The Syma X200 drone is expected to have an automatic takeoff function. However, upon testing, it was clear that the drone did not fly straight without calibration or trimming. This means that users will need to adjust the drone straight out of the box to ensure proper flight.

    Downside of Calibration

The need for calibration straight from the manufacturer is a significant downside of the Syma X200 drone. Many users, including myself, would prefer if the drone came semi-calibrated upon arrival. The immediate takeoff from the box resulted in the drone flying off course, hitting walls, and even nearly colliding with a TV.

    Indoor Use Design

The drone is primarily designed for indoor use. However, I decided to test it outdoors to avoid any potential accidents indoors. With ample green grass, there was no concern about the drone getting caught in trees or other obstacles.

    Basic Functions

The Syma X200 drone offers a range of basic functions. While it lacks advanced features, it performs adequately for casual use. Users can expect stability, easy maneuverability, and standard flight controls.

    Controller Design

Unfortunately, the controller design of the Syma X200 drone is not ideal. It is boxy and challenging to hold onto comfortably. Additionally, the placement of the screen makes it even more cumbersome to handle. This aspect of the controller received negative feedback from users.

    Design and Portability

The Syma X200 Drone boasts an impressive design that is both sleek and foldable. This feature allows for easy adjustment and storage, making it a convenient choice for those on the go. The drone can be folded up to a compact size, perfect for transportation and travel purposes. However, it’s worth noting that during a minor collision with a wall, the drone did show some signs of wear and tear. Fortunately, it can be easily pushed back into place, ensuring durability and longevity.

    Calibration Process

One drawback of the Syma X200 Drone is that it does not come pre-calibrated. This means that upon purchase, users will need to manually calibrate the device before being able to use it. While this is not a major issue for experienced drone enthusiasts, it can pose a challenge for newcomers who may not be familiar with the calibration process. It would have been more convenient and user-friendly if the drone came calibrated right out of the box.

    The Controller

The controller of the Syma X200 Drone is where it falls short. Users have reported that they are not satisfied with its overall feel and find it uncomfortable to hold for extended periods of time. This can be a significant disadvantage, especially for those who plan on using the drone for longer flights or photography sessions. Additionally, some users have expressed their displeasure with the controller’s design and functionality, making it a less desirable component of this otherwise impressive drone.

    Conclusion

Overall, the Syma X200 drone provides an enjoyable flying experience with its stable flight performance and responsive controls. The charging option may not be the most ideal, and the need for separate AAA batteries may be seen as an inconvenience. However, considering its affordable price and user-friendly features, the Syma X200 drone remains a popular choice among drone enthusiasts.

Despite its flaws, the Syma X200 Drone remains a reliable and feature-packed device that offers an enjoyable drone flying experience. Its foldable design and portability make it a standout among its competitors, allowing users to easily transport it wherever they go. While the lack of calibration out of the box and the subpar controller may be turn-offs for some, it is important to consider the overall value that the drone provides. With proper calibration and adjustments, along with a comfortable controller grip, the Syma X200 Drone can deliver exceptional performance and fun for both beginners and experienced drone pilots.
