Unboxing and Features
When you remove the box, you press the small button and pull out a large battery. Below, we have the micro USB card to remove. You give it a little push and it comes out. The box includes a 64 GB lexar memory card. The controller follows the standard we are familiar with. On one side, you can lift the drone, lower the drone, and make it spin around its axis. You can send the drone forward, backward, sideways, to the left or right. To start it up, you click and hold the power button. To operate the drone, you need to download its app, which can be found in app stores for both Android or iOS.
Setting Up the Controller
After downloading and installing the app, you create an account using your email. Next, you connect your smartphone to the controller using an OTG cable. Make sure to place your smartphone in the controller’s slot, where the cable fits perfectly. Leave the cable passing through and connect it. Once everything is connected, turn on the controller. You may notice your phone charging, which is normal for the first connection.

Turn on the drone using the power button. The first step is to select the model of the drone, in this case, the Atom drone. At the top of the screen, you can find indicators such as remaining battery life, radio signal strength, GPS signal, and camera angle. Below that, you can select the resolution at which the drone will record. You can also see the remaining storage space on the memory card. Additionally, there are settings to configure the maximum altitude the drone will reach and the return to home feature.

Next, I tried the spiral function by setting the drone to orbit a tower. You can choose the number of loops the drone will make in a spiral motion. Attempting to use these functions at 1080p resolution and 60 FPS will automatically switch the frame rate to 30 FPS. It is possible that future app updates will allow for these functions to be used at 60 FPS.
Long Range Testing
During a test flight, the drone was flown to a distance of 415 meters in order to assess the radio signal strength. Although the Potensic Atom 4K is capable of reaching distances of up to 5 km, it is important to note that long-range flights are not permitted in Brazil due to safety regulations. Even at a distance of 415 meters, there was a sense of excitement and nerves, as the drone was pushed to its limits.
