    Let’s dive into the details of my next 5-inch drone build featuring the NewBeeDrone x FETTec x AOS collaboration. This build incorporates the AOS UM 20207 Motors and the NewBeeDrone Infinity all-in-one flight controller.

    Unlike traditional flight controllers that run betaflight firmware, the NewBeeDrone flight controller uses a different firmware called fetch configurator. This means that it is not compatible with betaflight and requires a separate configuration software.

    The FETTec board I’m working with is a 30×30 board with heat sinks on the top and bottom, providing excellent protection for the components. Disassembling the board is not advisable as it is securely held together by a screw. However, it boasts a range of connectors that easily connect to various components and accessories.

    One notable feature of the FETTec board is the DGI FPV port, which comes with the necessary cables. This port enables seamless integration with an air unit, such as an 03 air unit or any other DJI wired flight control system. Additionally, there are several other connectors labeled for specific functions such as UR TX1 Telemetry, RX3, TX3, buzzer, UR, and 4 LED. These connectors provide convenient options for wiring up various accessories like receivers, GPS modules, and LEDs.

These LEDs not only add a visually appealing touch to your build but also serve as useful indicators for different states of the board, such as power status or flight mode. The forward direction should align with the front of your frame, while the exposed side should have the battery connection. The unique layout of this board allows for a different wiring setup, with motor wires coming to the inside of the frame and the battery connection being exposed on the side.

    USB and Battery Connection

    Once the board is properly placed in your frame, you will notice that the USB port is located on the side, providing easy access for configuration and firmware updates. The battery connection is also conveniently placed on the side, ensuring a clean and organized setup. These thoughtful design choices make it more user-friendly and efficient to work with the board during the build process.

    A Different Philosophy

    When it comes to the fittech boards, there seems to be a unique philosophy behind them. Additionally, these boards often come with a capacitor, such as the 35V 470µF capacitor included in this build. With a maximum limit of around 45 amps and the ability to burst up to 50 amps, this board is optimized for voltage ranges from 3S to 6S. Such specifications make it an ideal fit for my 227 motors, which I am excited to try out. The compact design of this single board will also help reduce the overall weight of the 5-inch freestyle build I am planning.

    Apart from the fittech board and capacitor, the package includes some extra gummies, M3 screws, and plastic nuts for securely mounting the board onto your frame. The details of this installation process will be covered in a future video, which I hope to release soon. However, before that, I need to decide which frame to use for this build. Since the fittech board combines the functions of a flight controller and ESC into one unit, all you need to complete the quadcopter is a frame, motors, and an FPV system. The choice of the FPV system can vary, from the popular Walks Snail or HG0 to analog or DJI 03. The versatility of the system allows you to customize your quadcopter to your preferences.
