To calibrate the Holystone HS720E drone, start by pushing both sticks down to the right. You will see a flashing light of a compass on the transmitter. Turn the drone around a few times and then face it up. Green lights should start flashing, with red lights on the front and green lights on the back, indicating that the drone is ready for takeoff.

    Preparing for Flight

Before taking off, it is important to start recording by pressing the designated button. Make sure to also fold out the drone’s arms for stability. With the recording already in progress, unlock the drone and try an automatic takeoff. Ensure that the drone has a sufficient number of satellites for a stable flight.

With 19 satellites locked in and the compass calibrated twice for accuracy, the Holystone HS720E drone takes off smoothly and hovers a few feet off the ground. The drone is equipped with a 4K camera that provides clear visuals and electronic image stabilization for steady footage.

    Range Test and Stability

After turning off beginner mode for more control, the drone may exhibit a slight toilet bowl effect, but the overall stability remains impressive. The Holystone HS720E drone is capable of range tests and can reach considerable distances while maintaining a stable flight. Electronic image stabilization helps in keeping the footage smooth even in challenging conditions.

    Observations During Flight

There look at that wow just to settle down now. So if youve been following my videos for a while and youve seen me fly here many times, you probably notice that theres no large tree there anymore, they cut it down not that long ago, Ill just turn towards where it was. It was just near this uh shed here is where the tree was just below me here on the camera, but uh yeah.

    Flight Stability

It looks like its toilet bowling guys. You can see that on the camera moving around a bit, so yeah thats, not thats, not ideal, lets bring it back. He returned to home were only about 106 M out, Ive hit return to home and it is coming back. The video looks nice and smooth, though, for a camera drone that doesnt have a gimbal, its only got Eis and that dampening system that I showed you as well, but uh. Fortunately, look at that its uh toilet bowling a bit Lets uh bring that camera down. So you can see its not that noticeable on the actual footage, its settled down now, but uh cuz its got electronic image stabilization, but uh yeah thats a bit of a shame. I know this particular model has a history of having uh toilet ball effect or TBE, and this one is no different. I guess so lets uh finish that recording all right.

    Technical Performance

Okay, so well, send it up again. It has been calibrated twice all right, so I want the motors lets just manually, put it up in the air little hover there, its nice and stable.

The Holystone HS720E 4K Camera Drone

Today, we will be reviewing the Holystone HS720E 4K camera drone, focusing on its flight performance and camera capabilities.

    Flight Performance

During the flight test, there was a noticeable issue with the air brakes causing some toilet bowling when pitching forward and stopping abruptly. This is a common problem with Holystone models, as even the 710 G had similar issues. However, after a few adjustments, the drone was able to settle down and fly smoothly, capturing decent footage in 4K resolution.

    Camera Capabilities

The camera on the Holystone HS720E drone is equipped with electronic image stabilization, providing relatively smooth footage even during banking maneuvers. The up and down tilt camera function works well, allowing for clear and stable video and photo capture. The drone also offers the option to record in 1080P mode, but for optimal quality, 4K recording is recommended.

    Additional Features

Aside from its camera capabilities, the Holystone HS720E drone also comes with a follow-me function and an orbit feature. These advanced functions allow for hands-free operation, making it easier to capture dynamic shots and footage. The drone has a decent battery life, providing ample time for exploration and experimentation with its various features.

    Camera Quality

The camera on the Holystone HS720E drone provides clear and stable footage, even when the drone is in motion. The 4K resolution ensures high-quality videos and photos, capturing crisp details and vibrant colors.

    Flight Performance

The drone is easy to control and responds well to commands. It maintains a steady altitude and is capable of smooth maneuvers, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced drone pilots. The GPS feature allows for precise navigation and stable hovering.

    Battery Life

According to the manufacturer, the Holystone HS720E drone can fly for up to 23 minutes on a single battery. However, in real-world conditions, the actual flight time may vary. It is recommended to fly and recharge the drone multiple times to optimize the battery performance.

    Flight Modes

The drone features various flight modes, such as follow me, orbit, and headless mode. While these modes can add versatility to your flights, some may be more useful than others. For example, the follow me mode allows the drone to track and film you as you move, providing dynamic footage.

    GPS Features

The drone comes equipped with GPS home return, which ensures that the drone can safely return to its takeoff point if signal is lost or if the battery is running low. This feature provides added security and peace of mind during flights.

    Lights and Speed

Let’s take a look at the lights on the bottom of the Holystone HS720E 4K Camera Drone. By pressing the top button, which also serves as the speed button, the lights will come on and you can turn them off and on as needed for visibility.

    Hovering Performance

The drone is capable of maintaining a steady hover, without exhibiting erratic movements or toilet bowling. This stability allows for smooth and controlled flight maneuvers.

    Speed Rate Adjustment

Experimenting with the different speed rates, it was discovered that the default setting is high speed mode, suitable for sports or fast-paced flying. There is also a slower photography mode that offers smooth and precise movements for capturing footage.

    Camera Quality

The 4K camera on the Holystone HS720E delivers high-quality footage at 30 frames per second. The camera offers smooth action and allows for easy adjustment during flight for optimal filming angles.

    Signal Loss and Return

There was a brief moment of signal loss during the flight test, but the drone was able to regain contact and return to its original position. This showcases the drone’s ability to autonomously navigate and correct course when necessary.

    Performance

This drone has been out for a couple of years now and overall, it performed rather well. However, there was a bit of a toilet bowl effect, which is a common issue with some models of Holy stones. The HS 175d had a similar problem, but it tended to find its spot after a while.

    Flight Behavior

During a live video, the drone exhibited the toilet bowl effect at the start a few times but eventually stabilized itself. It was able to land impressively close to the helipad, which demonstrates its overall good behavior.

    Settings

There are different settings available on the drone, including beginner mode which limits certain features such as Geo fencing to ensure a safe flying experience. This mode is ideal for first-time flyers who are still learning how to operate the drone.

    Flight Modes and Settings

To ensure safe flying, it is recommended to start off in beginner mode until you become familiar with the controls. The drone allows you to switch between metric and imperial measurements, set orbit radius, maximum distance, return to home altitude, and more. It is important to calibrate the drone, which can be done either through the app or using the controller.

    Controller vs. App

Some users may prefer to make adjustments and calibrate the drone using the controller, while others may find it easier to do so through the app. The choice is yours, but both options are available for convenience.

    Camera Quality and Stabilization

The HS720E 4K camera drone features electronic image stabilization (EIS), which ensures smooth and steady footage. The camera quality is impressive, providing clear and sharp images and videos. The 4K resolution captures stunning details, and the EIS helps reduce shakiness for professional-looking results.

    Design and Build

The Holystone HS720E 4K Camera Drone boasts a sleek and modern design, with a sturdy build that feels durable and reliable. The drone is lightweight yet robust, making it easy to maneuver and control during flights. The foldable arms provide convenience for transportation and storage, while the overall aesthetic is pleasing to the eye.

    Performance and Features

Equipped with a 4K camera, the HS720E delivers high-quality aerial footage and crisp images. The drone has a flight time of up to 26 minutes and a maximum transmission range of 984 feet, giving users plenty of time and space to capture stunning shots from above. The GPS-assisted Intelligent Flight modes, such as Follow Me mode and Waypoint mode, enhance the overall user experience.

    Flight Experience

Flying the Holystone HS720E 4K Camera Drone is a breeze, thanks to its intuitive controls and stable flight performance. The drone responds smoothly to commands and maintains a steady hover, making it ideal for both beginner and experienced pilots.
