The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is an upgraded version of the popular Tinyhawk series. In this article, we will explore the features and improvements of this freestyle drone kit.

EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit: An Overview

The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is a remarkable offering for drone enthusiasts, packed with features that guarantee a thrilling flying experience. This kit provides everything you need to get started, including the E8 controller with Express lrs and the Transporter 2 analog version goggles.

Upgraded E8 Controller with Express lrs

Included in this kit is the E8 controller, which has been upgraded with Express lrs technology. This technology enhances the control and stability of the drone, allowing for a smoother and more precise flying experience. The Express lrs system ensures reliable and low-latency communication between the controller and the drone, making it ideal for freestyle flying.

    Transporter 2 Analog Version Goggles

The Transporter 2 goggles are an excellent addition to the kit, providing a high-quality viewing experience. While this is the analog version, it still delivers impressive visual clarity and immersion. The goggles allow you to see what the drone sees in real-time, providing a first-person perspective that truly enhances the flying experience.

A Closer Look at the Naming Conventions

The naming conventions used for the EMAX Tinyhawk series can be a bit confusing. Although this kit is referred to as the “Tinyhawk 3 Plus,” it is technically the fourth generation of the freestyle drones. The third generation of the freestyle was skipped in the naming process. However, it’s important to note that there have only been three versions released so far, making this the third actual freestyle drone in the series.

    Goggles and Focusing Mechanism

The goggles included in the kit are similar to the previous version. They feature a detachable screen and adjustable focusing mechanism, allowing users to customize their viewing experience. However, it’s important to note that this version is not the HD zero version; it is the analog version.

    Antennas and Monitor Attachment

The Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit comes with two antennas that can be attached to the drone. Users can also attach the monitor to the top of the transmitter, just like in the previous version. An adapter is provided to secure the monitor, which has a threaded quarter twenty screw on the top or bottom. This allows users to fly the drone using the monitor instead of goggles, providing an alternative viewing option.

    Updates and Improvements

It has been a while since the last update to the freestyle drone series. The previous version, the Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle Radio Fly, was released in July of 2020. The original freestyle model was introduced back in May of 2020. With the new Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit, EMAX has made several improvements. Firstly, they have accommodated the HD zero feature, although this particular model does not have it. Additionally, they have upgraded the motors to 1202, providing more power and agility to the drone.

    Improved Motors and Flight Controller

The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit comes with 5 motors, an upgrade from the previous version which had 4. These motors are now 7000 KV, whereas the previous ones were 1103 at the same KV. The new flight controller is designed to handle 2s batteries, providing enhanced power and performance. The kit also includes a USB C Port for convenient charging and a video transmitter.

    Updated Design

The new Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit features a slightly updated design. It retains the white printing on the carbon frame, which gives it a sleek and modern look. However, EMAX has partnered with a different vendor for the carbon frame, making it stronger and more durable than before. This ensures that the drone can withstand more intense flights and crashes without sustaining as much damage.

    Lightweight and Compact

Weighing in at 62 grams without batteries, and 92 grams with the included 1s batteries, the Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is lightweight and compact. This makes it highly maneuverable and agile in the air, allowing pilots to perform impressive aerial stunts and freestyle moves with ease. The drone’s compact size also means that it can be easily transported and stored, making it an ideal choice for pilots who are always on the go.

    Improved Battery Connectors

The Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit continues to use the popular pH 2.0 connectors for its batteries. These connectors have proven to be reliable, providing a secure connection between the batteries and the drone. EMAX has also introduced a slightly updated version of the pH 2.0 series connector, which allows for the use of 2s battery. This means that pilots can now enjoy longer flight times and increased power, thanks to the new battery compatibility.

    Fly Longer with Included Batteries

With the Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit, you don’t have to worry about purchasing additional batteries right away. The kit comes with two 650 milliamp hour 1s batteries, which are included in the package. These batteries provide a decent flight time, allowing pilots to enjoy around four to five minutes of uninterrupted flying. Additionally, the kit’s RTF (Ready-to-Fly) nature means that everything you need to get started is included, making it a convenient choice for beginners and experienced pilots alike.

    Connectivity and Kit Contents

All this connector back. You might want to cut away some of this heat shrink that’s covering the capacitor a little bit, so you can bend this cable a little bit more. That might help in terms of getting a better connection Id left. It is and um yeah it just its a little tricky, but you can get it in there and just quickly.

    Accessories and Case

Looking at the rest of the stuff that comes in the kit, you don’t get a case. Uh, the tiny O2 freestyle came with a case that everything you keep everything in and I think the what version this comes with the case as well, but this one does not come in the case, so maybe they’re trying to cut some cost costs there. You got your USB battery charger. I don’t think has changed in a while USB C cable there for charging the controller. I got some spear screws and nuts and stuff here. This is a little adapter here again that appears as well. Here you can put that into one of the plugs and just run off of One S, for maybe some indoor flights it does fly but its very slow, and then I have another USB-C cable here. I think this is a USBC, and this one, I think, is yeah. This is micro USB because the analog goggles are still using micro USB, although the the, if you get the HD zero version of this, that comes with the updated, monitor that charges via USBC and just taking a quick look at the controller.

    Improved Features

The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit has received several updates, making it a much better option than its second-generation counterpart. One of the major improvements is the inclusion of Express lrs, a control link that has become highly popular in recent times.

    Enhanced Controls

This kit offers a range of different controls for an enhanced flying experience. The arming switch is conveniently labeled and located in a prominent position. There are three modes available: expert, intermediate, and beginner, which correspond to Angle, Horizon, and Acro modes respectively. The Turtle mode and beeper functions are also easily accessible via dedicated switches.

    Power and Dependability

The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is powered by a 1s 18650 lithium-ion battery. This ensures reliable and consistent power supply to the controller and gimbals, allowing for smooth operation. The construction of this kit is sturdy and durable, making it a suitable choice for entry-level users.

    Future Versatility

If you decide to purchase this kit and later upgrade your quad using Express lrs, rest assured that this controller will still function perfectly. While it may lack some of the fancy features such as a screen and additional controls, it is still capable of flying your aircraft effectively. It should be noted, however, that this controller has a maximum power output of 100 milliwatts.

Overall, the EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is a significant improvement over its predecessor. With its updated features and versatile performance, it is an excellent choice for both beginner and intermediate drone enthusiasts.

EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit: A Closer Look

    Improved Version: HT0

The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit has gained popularity among drone enthusiasts for its impressive features and performance. Although the HT0 version is not yet available, it is worth keeping an eye out for its release. As soon as the HT0 version becomes accessible, I will provide a detailed video review on my channel, offering my personal thoughts and experiences with this upgraded model.

    Weight and Performance

Compared to other models that boast HD zero, the HT0 version is expected to weigh slightly more, approximately two to three grams more than the previous model. This increase in weight will have a minimal impact on performance and flight time. The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is known for its impressive flight time of five to six minutes, although EMAX advertises a flight time of up to seven minutes. It is important to note that these flight times are achieved under ideal conditions, such as no wind or indoor flying at a slow pace. If you are seeking to perform acrobatic tricks and freestyle maneuvers, the flight time may be slightly reduced.

    Optimal Flight Experience

Realistically, with the included batteries, I suggest expecting a flight time of approximately five to six minutes. This duration allows for a mix of acrobatics, freestyle flying, and casual cruising. It is essential to consider your desired flying style when determining the flight time you aim to achieve. If you prioritize longer flight times and are willing to sacrifice some acrobatic capabilities, flying at a slower pace will enable you to squeeze out a full seven minutes of flight time.

    The Ready-to-Fly Advantage

One of the notable advantages of the EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is its convenient “ready-to-fly” features. This means that everything is pre-connected, saving you time and effort. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced drone pilot, this kit offers a user-friendly experience, allowing you to focus on enjoying the flight rather than worrying about complex setups.

In conclusion, the EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit, with its anticipated HT0 version, delivers an impressive flying experience. With its improved features, compact design, and convenient setup, this kit appeals to drone enthusiasts of all levels. Stay tuned for the release of the HT0 version and watch my channel for a comprehensive video review, covering its performance and capabilities.

EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit: Ready-to-Fly Fun

The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is the perfect choice for those who want to experience the thrill of flying without the hassle of building and tuning a drone. This kit comes with everything you need to start flying right out of the box.

    Easy Setup

With the Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit, there’s no need to buy anything else. The batteries are included and all you have to do is charge them up. The monitor is already tuned into the video transmitter and the transmitter is bound to the express lures receiver. So, there’s no additional work required on your part.

    Simulator Training

If you’re new to flying drones and want to practice before taking to the skies, the Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit has got you covered. It has USBC capability to connect to your computer for a USB joystick. This means you can use a simulator to train and get comfortable with flying before you actually fly the drone.

    Pit Tune from the Factory

The Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit comes with a pit tune straight from the factory. This means you don’t have to worry about tuning the drone yourself. It’s ready to go right out of the box, allowing you to focus on the fun of flying.

Comparisons to Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle Analog

When compared to the Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle Analog, the Tinyhawk III Plus performs slightly differently in terms of freestyle performance. The Tinyhawk III Plus has a slightly lower height motor, measuring at two and a half millimeters compared to the three millimeters of the Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle. This difference in motor height makes the Tinyhawk III Plus more efficient.

In terms of flight time, the Tinyhawk II Freestyle provided around three to four minutes. Although the Tinyhawk III Plus may have a slightly different performance, it still offers an exhilarating flying experience for drone enthusiasts.

The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is perfect for both beginners and experienced drone pilots. With its easy setup, simulator training capability, and factory tuned performance, it’s a great option for those looking to dive into the world of FPV drone flying.

EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit: Longer Flight Time with Trade-Offs

More Flight Time, Less Punch Out Power

The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit offers a longer flight time compared to its predecessor, the Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle. However, this comes at a cost, as the increased flight time is achieved by sacrificing some of the punch out power. The reason behind this trade-off is primarily due to the heavier weight of the overall drone, which includes bigger motors and a slightly heavier frame. Additionally, the inclusion of a larger battery also contributes to the increased flight time.

    Still Capable of Freestyle Tricks

Despite the decrease in punch out power, the EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is still capable of performing various freestyle tricks. Whether it’s flippy, floppy, or other maneuvers, this drone can still deliver an enjoyable flying experience. However, it’s worth noting that some users may prefer the slightly better performance of the Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle in terms of executing these tricks.

    Optimizing Performance

For users seeking enhanced performance, one potential solution is to use smaller batteries, such as a 1s 450 with the pH 2.0 connector. While this will result in reduced flight time, it also means carrying less weight, which can improve overall performance. By opting for this setup, users may expect similar performance to that of the Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle, albeit with less flight time.

    Coming Soon: Three-Inch Version

Many enthusiasts have expressed interest in a three-inch version of the EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit. Although the upgraded three-inch bottom plates are not currently included, EMAX has announced that they will release a new bottom plate specifically designed for three-inch props. This upcoming addition will cater to users looking for improved capabilities and versatility in their flying experience.

EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit

    Three Inch Upgrade Option

The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is a popular choice among drone enthusiasts. It comes in a two and a half inch version, but for those looking for a three inch upgrade option, EMAX has made it possible. By transferring the electronics and motors to the three inch bottom plate and sourcing some three inch props, users can enjoy the benefits of a larger version of this drone. Although there is no information regarding the cost of this upgrade, it is an option worth considering for those who want a different flying experience.

    Availability and Pricing

Regarding the pricing, there is no specific information available at the moment. Different versions of the EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit will be available for purchase. Whether you want to buy the drone by itself or as part of a radio flight kit, the necessary links will be provided in the video description. EMAX has not disclosed pricing details ahead of time, so interested buyers will need to visit the EMAX website to check the prices upon release. Additionally, links to other stores like Race Day Quads will be included in the video description for future purchases.

    Conclusion

The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is a fantastic option for both beginners and experienced drone pilots. With its upgraded controller and high-quality goggles, this kit provides an immersive and thrilling flying experience. Whether you’re into freestyle flying or simply looking to explore the world from a different perspective, this kit is definitely worth considering.

The EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit offers an upgraded flight experience with its improved motors, flight controller, and updated design. The lightweight and compact nature of the drone, combined with the included batteries, ensures that pilots can enjoy longer flight times and increased power. With its reliable battery connectors and convenient features, this kit is a great choice for both beginners and experienced pilots looking to explore the world of freestyle flying.

In conclusion, the EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit offers an exciting option for drone enthusiasts. With the possibility of a three inch upgrade, users can enjoy a different flying experience. However, pricing information for the different versions of this kit is not available at the moment. Interested buyers can visit the EMAX website or other stores to check the prices upon release. Whether you choose to purchase the drone by itself or as part of a radio flight kit, the EMAX Tinyhawk III Plus Freestyle RTF Kit is definitely worth considering for drone enthusiasts craving a new and thrilling flying adventure.
