Unboxing
Upon arriving home, the Drone E99 package which costs around Rp. 200,000, along with shipping costs, was ready for unboxing. The manual book for the camera and its accessories were obtained, providing instructions in both English and Chinese. The package included the remote control which required three AA batteries.
Drone Features
The Drone E99, black in color, was equipped with a standard camera. The drone was similar to the Drone E88, with a built-in camera. However, one unit faced technical issues with the back motor, attributed to a crash incident that led to malfunction.
Testing the Drone
After setting up the drone, it was time to test the flying capabilities. The initial setup and connection to the RC FPV application went smoothly. Although the camera appeared to be slightly tilted and zoomed in, it functioned adequately.
Flight Testing
Takeoff was smooth, despite the lack of wind affecting the flight. The drone was calibrated and lifted off the ground successfully. The video recording and test flight showcased the drone’s ability to maneuver in various speeds and directions.
Upgrade FPV Camera
Alright, let’s fly the drone and test out the FPV camera upgrade. Let’s lower it a bit and see the view. Let’s take a look at the scenery. Let’s see the palm trees. Okay, let’s go to the palm trees and see the results. It looks clear to me. That’s why I’m recording through my phone and not the app, as the phone recording gives better results. Let’s fly straight ahead. The distance is very far for ground toys. Let’s try a flip. Oh, it can’t flip. Let’s try again. Oh, there it goes! It can flip.
Fly and Test
I bought this drone a long time ago, but I never got around to reviewing it. It’s the best drone for the price, under Rp200,000. Now, let’s upgrade to FPV. Let’s install the FPV camera. The camera can be removed and installed easily. The camera has been modified for FPV. Now, let’s connect the camera using a converter to extend the cable length. Once connected, we need to use adhesive to attach the camera securely.
FPV Test
Now that the FPV camera is set up, let’s test it out. The footage looks good, and we can clearly see the view. I’m recording the footage using ROTG (Receiver OTG), which allows me to use my phone as a screen. The signal seems to be a bit weak, but we’ll continue testing it. Let’s take the drone outside and see how it performs. After calibrating and setting up, we can start recording the FPV footage.
