Power Supply
Holder Kit are available for purchase according to monitoring requirements. Before first use, unfold the antennas and install the NP F battery. Insert the NP F battery into the battery slot and push it to the end. Make sure that the battery release button pops up indicating the battery is firmly in place. In addition to using an NP F battery to power the device, DJI SDR Transmission also supports a USB C power supply. Connect the PD adapter to the USB C power and gimbal communication port on the transmitter or the USB C power port on the receiver, using a USB C cable to power the device. The transmitter also supports a power supply from the gimbal. Taking DJI RS 4 Pro as an example, connect the video transmissionLiDAR range finder port on the gimbal to the USB C power and gimbal communication port on the transmitter using a camera control cable, USB C 30 cm. This setup allows the gimbal to power the transmitter.
Firmware, Update, and Device Activation
After the device is powered, toggle the power switch to power on the device. When using for the first time, select the system language. The transmitter and receiver need to be updated and activated separately before use. For example, to activate the transmitter, follow these steps: visit the DJI website and download DJI Assistant 2 Ronin Series to your computer. Connect the USB C firmware update port of the transmitter or the USB C firmware update and video output port of the receiver to the computer, using a USB A to USB C cable, and then run DJI Assistant 2 Ronin Series. Log in to your DJI Account, click the device icon on the home page to access the firmware update page.
Updating Firmware
The first step to using your DJI SDR Transmission system is to ensure that the firmware is up to date. Select the latest firmware version and click on Upgrade. It is crucial not to power off the device during the update process. Wait for the update to complete and make sure that the firmware versions of both the transmitter and receiver are consistent.
Activating the Device
After updating the firmware, click on the device icon on the home page and follow the prompts to activate the device. This step is essential to ensure proper functioning of the DJI SDR Transmission system.
Buttons & Ports
The DJI SDR Transmission system is equipped with various buttons and ports for connectivity and control. The transmitter and receiver feature air intakes on the top with four foldable antennas for signal reception. On the front, you will find a touchscreen display and air outlet for ventilation.
Connectivity Ports
On the left side of the transmitter, there are HDMI and SDI input ports for receiving video signals from the camera. Similarly, on the left side of the receiver, you will find HDMI and SDI output ports for transmitting the video signal to a monitor.
On the right side of the transmitter, you will find the power switch, link button, USB C firmware update port, USB C power and gimbal communication port, and a 3.5mm stereo jack. The right side of the receiver also features the power switch, link button, USB C firmware update and video output port, USB C power port, and a 3.5mm stereo jack.
Device Controls
To power on or off the device, toggle the power switch accordingly. Press the link button once to lock or unlock the screen. Holding down the link button will enter the linking status, allowing for seamless connectivity.
Setting up the Transmitter
The USB C firmware update port of the transmitter is essential for device activation and firmware updates. It can also be used for video output. For activation and firmware updates when used with the Ronin app, the port of the receiver can also transmit video signals to a mobile device.
Power Supply and Connection
The USB C power and gimbal communication port of the transmitter, along with the USB C power port of the receiver, can be connected to an adapter for power supply using a USB C cable. Additionally, the USB C Power and Gimbal Communication Port can connect to the LiDAR range finder port, USB C of the gimbal, and the camera control cable for gimbal control.
Audio and Communication Capabilities
The 3.5mm stereo jack on the transmitter can be used to connect a headset for two-way communication. This enables communication between the transmitter and the receiver in Control mode. It is important to note that each transmitter can only communicate with one receiver.
Additional Features
On the bottom of both the transmitter and receiver, there is a 1/4 threaded screw hole for mounting purposes. The transmitter features a touchscreen display that shows battery level, input source status on the first row, Wi-Fi connection and Broadcast mode status on the second row, and Control mode status on the third row. The lights A and B indicate the connection status to the control device.
Control Mode
Device B is connected in Control mode. The channel in use center frequency device number and video transmission signal quality are displayed on the right side of the home screen. Green indicates a strong signal, yellow indicates a moderate signal, and red indicates a weak signal.
Broadcast Mode
In Broadcast mode, the current channel center frequency and device number are displayed on the right side of the home screen when the receiver is linked and connected to an input source. The battery level and video transmission signal quality are displayed on the first row on the left side of the home screen. The video specifications resolution and frame rate are displayed on the second row. The video transmission bitrate is displayed on the third row.
Control Mode Details
In Control mode, the channel in use, channel signal quality, and control device are displayed on the right side of the home screen.
Broadcast Mode Details
In Broadcast mode, the channel in use, channel signal quality, and device number are displayed on the right side of the home screen.
Menu Options
Slide down on the home screen of the transmitter to enter the menu. You can select device number, enable or disable the Wi-Fi and Broadcast mode, adjust the audio volume and screen brightness. You can also tap on Fan Mode and set it to Normal, Low, High, or Rec Low. It is important to note that setting the fan mode to Rec Low may cause overheating. Additionally, you can tap on Color Bars to enable or disable it. When enabled, color bars will be displayed on the RavenEye camera view when there is no video signal input.

Common Troubleshooting Problems
Slide down on the home screen of the receiver to enter the menu. You can select the connection mode switch the channel.
View Firmware Version Information
In Control mode tap SDR Channel to view the channel signal, quality and switch channels. In Broadcast mode channels can be viewed but not switched. Tap Low, Latency to enable or disable it. The frame rate will be converted to 60 fps when enabled, and it will follow the camera’s output frame rate when this mode is disabled.
Channel Selection
In Control mode slide up on the home screen of the transmitter and receiver to enter the SDR Channel interface for channel selection. The colored dot next to each channel shows the quality of that channel.
Interface Options
In Broadcast mode slide up on the transmitter home screen to enter the SDR Channel interface for channel selection. Slide up on the receiver home screen to enter the Broadcast interface, allowing for the device number list to be refreshed and the selection of the connected transmitter.
Wi-Fi Connection
Slide right on the transmitter home screen to enter the Wi-Fi connection interface. Use the Ronin app to scan the QR code for quick Wi-Fi connection. Alternatively, slide up on the QR Code interface to view the device name and password. Select Wi-Fi in the system.
