Introduction
There are probably people out there who buy a drone and want to use it for a specific purpose around where they live, but then take that drone to a family barbecue or somewhere else, with only one battery and realize that now they can only capture 20 to 40 minutes, if they’re lucky of that family barbecue, because they only have one battery and let’s not forget that, because they don’t have a bag, they now have to store it somewhere and hope nothing happens to it. Oh yes, these reasons are probably reaching. However, I’m just trying to paint some kind of picture here as to why the fly more kit is probably going to be worth it for a lot of people. Now, of course, if you don’t really care about getting different perspectives in the places you go to, nor do you go to your family barbecues because maybe you find them annoying then yeah. None of this matters – I guess so that is all I have for all of you here on this fly more kit here and uh yeah. Essentially, there are some essential pieces to all of the stuff that’s in this kit, like I’ve been saying or like I’ve been stressing, but really, like. I said its just going to come down and I’m, stressing this again, it’s going to come down to what you intend to do with your drone. I personally think that everything that I bought in this kit is worth it for me and I do use it on a daily, with the exception of that USB cable, but not everybody’s, going to need that.
DJI Mini 3 Pro and Mini 3 Fly More Kit are accessories that many people may not be aware they actually need. In this review, we will explore whether purchasing the entire kit or just specific items is necessary.
Should You Get the DJI Mini 3 Pro/Mini 3 Fly More Kit?
The Fly More Kit: Longer Flying Experience
If you want to enhance your drone experience and fly for longer periods of time, the DJI Mini 3 Pro/Mini 3 Fly More Kit might be just what you need. This kit consists of a series of accessories that can greatly extend your drone’s capabilities. But the question remains: do you really need everything that comes in this kit? Let’s explore each item in detail and determine whether it’s worth considering as a whole.
The Two Kit Versions
It’s important to note that there are two versions of this kit available – one for the DJI Mini 3 and one for the DJI Mini 3 Pro. While both kits include standard items such as a shoulder bag, two batteries, a charging hub, extra pairs of propellers and screws, and a USB A to Type C cable, the main difference lies in the batteries.
Fly More Kit
The Fly More Kit, which has an MSRP of $189, comes with two additional standard capacity batteries identical to the one that comes with your drone initially. This means you’ll have a total of three batteries to keep you flying for longer periods of time. This is particularly useful if you plan on capturing footage in remote areas without access to a power source.
Fly More Kit Plus
If you’re looking for even more flying time, the Fly More Kit Plus might be worth considering. Priced at $249, it includes the same accessories as the Fly More Kit, but with two extended capacity batteries instead. These batteries offer a longer flight time compared to the standard capacity ones, providing you with extended opportunities to capture breathtaking aerial shots.
The Shoulder Bag: Convenient but Generic
The shoulder bag is the most important item in the kit and its significance cannot be overlooked. However, it’s worth mentioning that there isn’t anything particularly special about this bag. While it provides a convenient and secure way to transport your drone and its accessories, it doesn’t offer any unique features or functionalities.
In summary, the DJI Mini 3 Pro/Mini 3 Fly More Kit offers a range of accessories that can enhance your drone’s performance and extend your flying experience. Whether you opt for the Fly More Kit or the Fly More Kit Plus depends on your specific needs and budget. If you’re content with the standard capacity batteries and are primarily focused on portability, the Fly More Kit is the way to go. However, if you require longer flight times and are willing to invest a little more, the Fly More Kit Plus with its extended capacity batteries is a worthwhile option.

The Convenient Storage Solution
The DJI MINI 3 PRO/MINI 3 Fly More Kit offers a convenient storage solution for all your drone accessories. With this kit, you can literally store everything that comes with it. The bag that comes with the kit is not only spacious but also inconspicuous, making it perfect for those who have drone anxiety. It does a great job of not taking up too much space while keeping all your items consolidated.
Durable and Water-Resistant
The bag is made of a durable material that feels like fake leather. While it provides a small amount of water resistance from light rain, it may not be suitable for heavy rain. However, it does a decent job of protecting your belongings from moisture. The bag’s zippers are sturdy and reliable, ensuring that your items remain secure.
Multiple Compartments for Storage
The bag features five different compartments to store your stuff. The most obvious compartment is designed specifically for the drone. To the right of that, you have two slots for storing additional items. The controller can be placed in one of these slots, along with its case and lanyard. The charging hub and batteries can be stored in the compartment above the slots.
If you prefer a slimmer profile, you can collapse both slots by removing the Velcro and folding the flap that creates these compartments. This allows you to accommodate larger items, such as a case full of ND filters, in the back of the drone compartment.
The DJI Mini 3 Pro/ Mini 3 Fly More Kit: A Comprehensive Review
Overview of the Fly More Kit
The DJI Mini 3 Pro and Mini 3 Fly More Kit offer a range of accessories that enhance both the functionality and convenience of the drone. In this review, we will explore whether you truly need all the components included in the kit or if some of them can be skipped.
The Bag: Convenient and Practical
One of the standout components of the Fly More Kit is the bag it comes with. The bag features several compartments that allow for organized storage of various accessories. The zippered compartment is perfect for storing extra propellers and the USB cable included in the package. Additionally, there is a front zippered pouch that can serve as an extra pocket for storing items such as a portable battery. The adjustable shoulder strap adds to the bag’s comfort, particularly for taller individuals.
Durability and Easy Maintenance
The bag’s durability is worth mentioning as it can withstand accidental drops without sustaining significant damage. Even though it may seem susceptible to dirt, the bag proves to be easily cleanable, which is a great advantage for drone enthusiasts who often find themselves outdoors.
The Importance of Spare Propellers
The Fly More Kit includes two pairs of propellers, providing users with a total of four propellers. Having spare propellers is essential as they allow for quick replacement in case of damage or breakage. By having two full sets of propellers, drone pilots can ensure uninterrupted flights and avoid potential inconvenience.
The ND Filters: A Valuable Addition
In addition to the bag and spare propellers, the Fly More Kit also includes ND (Neutral Density) filters. While the review does not delve into the specific details and performance of these filters, it promises to provide a separate video review in the future. These filters are believed to enhance the quality of videos and photos captured with the DJI Mini 3 Pro, making them an appealing addition for photography enthusiasts.
The Fly More Kit Plus
When it comes to the DJI Mini 3 Pro or Mini 3, one of the accessories that you may consider purchasing is the Fly More Kit. There are different versions of the kit available, and depending on which one you choose, you will receive either two standard batteries or two extended batteries.
Extended Battery Capacity
In my case, I opted for the Fly More Kit Plus, which provided me with two extended batteries. These intelligent flight Battery Plus units offer approximately 57 percent more capacity than the standard battery that comes with the DJI Mini 3 or Mini 3 Pro.
Increased Flight Time
According to DJI, when using the extended batteries with the Mini 3 Pro, you can expect a flight time of 47 minutes, compared to the 34 minutes you would get with the standard battery when using the Mini 3. Similarly, with the extended batteries, you get 51 minutes of flight time, whereas the standard battery provides only 38 minutes.
Battery Life Difference
To better illustrate the difference in battery life between the standard and extended batteries, let’s refer to a test I conducted during my Mini 3 Pro long-term review. It’s important to note that these tests may not provide a definitive answer, but they do give us an idea of what to expect under specific conditions.
Battery Life Test
During the test, I flew the drone aimlessly, attempting to drain the battery as much as possible within a specific time frame. I conducted the test in the western region where the altitude is higher than sea level.
In the first test, the weather was 61 degrees Fahrenheit, while in the second test, it was 62 degrees Fahrenheit. These temperature readings are important as they can impact battery performance.
The Fly More Kit
The Fly More Kit, particularly the Fly More Kit Plus with extended batteries, can significantly enhance your flying experience with the DJI Mini 3 Pro or Mini 3. The increased battery capacity allows for longer flight times, giving you more time to capture breathtaking aerial footage.
Whether you choose the standard or extended batteries, it’s crucial to consider your specific needs and flying conditions. The Fly More Kit Plus offers greater battery life, but it also comes at a higher cost. Ultimately, the decision to purchase the Fly More Kit and which version to choose depends on your priorities and budget.
Standard Battery Test
The first test was conducted using the standard battery. The flight duration was approximately 12 minutes and 23 seconds. The battery life was at 94% when the test started. During the test, I flew at the maximum altitude allowed in the area, which was 393 feet. By the end of the test, the battery level dropped to 45%, resulting in a 49% decrease in battery life.
Extended Battery Test
For the second test, I used the extended battery, which was fully charged at 100%. However, I did put the Drone up in the air until the battery level dropped to around 94%, to emulate the conditions of the first test. The flight duration with the extended battery was approximately 13 minutes and 30 seconds. Similar to the first test, I flew at a maximum height allowed of 393 feet. After the test, the battery level was at 57%, indicating a 37% decrease in battery life compared to the initial charge.
Factors Influencing Battery Life
It is important to note that not everyone lives in the same conditions, which can affect battery life. Your battery life may vary depending on various factors. Additionally, battery life can also be improved by moving the Drone instead of hovering, as this increases airflow among other factors. However, based on the test results, it is evident that the extended batteries are worth considering if you intend to fly for longer durations.
Compliance with FAA Rules
One crucial point to consider is that if you are using the standard battery, you will definitely comply with the weight regulations set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It is essential to adhere to these rules to ensure safe and legal operations.
The DJI Mini 3 Pro/Mini 3 Fly More Kit Review: Do You Need It All or Just Some?
The Weight Limit and FAA Registration
When using the extended battery with your DJI Mini 3 Pro or Mini 3 drone, it’s important to note that it will exceed the weight limit of 249 grams. This means that you will need to register your drone with the FAA. While some may choose to ignore this rule, it’s always better to err on the side of caution, especially considering the increasing regulations in the remote control industry.
The Charging Hub’s Multiple Functions
The DJI Mini 3 Pro/Mini 3 Fly More Kit comes with a charging hub that offers more than just charging capabilities for your batteries. Not only does it charge your batteries, but it also serves as a portable battery charger for other devices. Additionally, it can double as a storage unit for up to three batteries, just like most of DJI’s charging hubs.
The Charging Process
Charging your batteries with the DJI Mini 3 Pro/Mini 3 Fly More Kit charging hub is a seamless process. The hub charges the batteries one by one in sequence, ensuring they are fully charged. While this may seem like it could take a long time, it’s actually quite efficient, especially when using a charging brick that has a minimum power output of 30 Watts.
For example, if you have a standard battery that is at 48 percent and you use a 50 watt charger, you can charge it in the hub for 30 minutes and have it fully charged to 100 percent. Similarly, if your extended battery is also at 48 percent, after 30 minutes of charging, it can reach 91 percent. As you can see, the charging hub offers great utility and convenience.
The Included USB Cable
In addition to the charging hub and batteries, the DJI Mini 3 Pro/Mini 3 Fly More Kit also includes a USB cable. This cable can be used for various purposes, such as connecting your drone to a computer for firmware updates or transferring data.
The DJI Mini 3 Pro/Mini 3 Fly More Kit offers several useful accessories, including the charging hub and USB cable. While the extended battery may require FAA registration due to weight limits, the convenience and versatility of the charging hub make it a worthwhile addition. Whether you need all the components of the kit or just some, it ultimately depends on your specific needs and preferences as a drone pilot.
Is the DJI Mini 3 Pro/Mini 3 Fly More Kit Worth It?
When it comes to purchasing a new drone, the question of whether you need all the bells and whistles that come in the fly more kit is a common one. In this review, we will take a closer look at the DJI Mini 3 Pro/Mini 3 Fly More Kit to help you decide if it’s worth the investment.
The USB Cable
Let’s start with the USB cable. While some may be intrigued by the mention of dragon skin and gold copper, the reality is that it is just a standard USB cable. You can find similar cables easily and there’s nothing particularly special about this one. It’s a type A to type C cable, and you can find it anywhere.
What’s Included in the Kit
Now, let’s move on to the main question: do you need everything that comes in this fly more kit? The answer to that really depends on your needs. Each item in the kit can be purchased separately from DJI, except for the bag. If you want the bag, you’ll have to search for it online. The price ranges from $15 to $20.
So, while you don’t necessarily need to buy the entire kit, doing so might save you some money in the long run. It’s worth considering if you’re planning to use the drone frequently and want to have all the necessary accessories on hand.
The Joy of Flying
Now, let’s talk about the joy of flying a drone. I personally found that the more I flew my first drone with a fly more kit, which was the Mini 2, the more fun it became. It was an unexpectedly thrilling experience to see familiar places from new perspectives. The fly more kit allowed me to extend my flying time, capture amazing footage, and enhance the overall enjoyment of flying.
So, should you buy the DJI Mini 3 Pro/Mini 3 Fly More Kit? In my opinion, if you’re serious about drone flying and want to make the most out of your experience, investing in the kit is a wise decision. The additional accessories, such as extra batteries and propellers, will give you more flight time and ensure that you’re always prepared for any situation. Plus, the convenience of having everything in one package is definitely a plus.
Ultimately, the choice is up to you. Assess your needs and consider how often you plan to use the drone. If you’re a casual flyer, it may be more cost-effective to purchase individual accessories as needed. But if you’re passionate about aerial photography and enjoy pushing the limits of your drone, the fly more kit is definitely worth considering.
