Dji Avata FPV Drone First Use Review
Flight Speed and Operation Logic
The Dji Avata FPV drone offers a faster flight speed compared to other models. The operation logic of the motion controller remains the same in both normal and sport modes. Users can easily control the drone by pressing the record button to take a photo or start/stop recording. By switching between photo and video mode, the head tracking function can be enabled for a more immersive flying experience.
Head Tracking Function
With head tracking enabled, users can control the horizontal orientation of the aircraft and the gimbal tilt through head movements. The motion controller, however, cannot control the gimbal tilt and only the aircraft can be controlled. Returning to home is made easy with the Dji Avata FPV drone. The home point is recorded when the GNSS icon is white, and a prompt will appear in the goggles during takeoff to confirm the updated home point.
Return to Home Feature
To initiate the Return to Home (RTH) feature, users can press and hold the mode button on the motion controller. The aircraft will then fly back to the last updated home point. If needed, users can cancel the RTH by pressing the lock button once. Exiting the RTH mode will give users back control of the aircraft. The aircraft will automatically activate the RTH feature or land in situations where the battery level is only sufficient for RTH or landing.
Flight Experience
After unboxing the Dji Avata FPV drone and going through the setup process, it was time to take to the skies. The first thing that stood out was the smooth takeoff and stable flight of the drone. The controls were responsive and easy to navigate, allowing for precise movements and adjustments while in the air.
Force Landing Safety Feature
One of the standout safety features of the Dji Avata FPV drone is its Force Landing capability. This feature is activated when the remote control signal or video transmission signal is lost. In this event, the drone will initiate a Force Landing and perform a Return to Home (RTH) by default. This provides peace of mind for users, knowing that the drone will safely land in the event of signal loss.
Return to Home (RTH) Functionality
The RTH functionality of the Dji Avata FPV drone is impressive. In testing, when the RTH button was activated, the drone smoothly and accurately returned to its takeoff point. This feature is invaluable for situations where the drone may fly out of range or if the pilot loses sight of it in the sky.
Video Transmission Signal
The video transmission signal of the Dji Avata FPV drone was strong and clear throughout the flight tests. This allowed for a seamless FPV (First Person View) experience, with real-time video feedback for the pilot. The high-quality video transmission signal enhanced the overall flight experience and made it easy to navigate and control the drone.
Overall, the Dji Avata FPV drone offers a seamless flying experience with advanced features such as head tracking and Return to Home functionality. With a faster flight speed and intuitive controls, this drone is a great choice for both beginners and experienced users alike.
Overall, the Dji Avata FPV drone delivered on its promise of a smooth and stable flight experience. The Force Landing safety feature provided an added layer of security, while the RTH functionality and clear video transmission signal made for a truly immersive FPV flying experience.
