Experience with DJI’s New Drone: The Air 3s

For the past few months, I have eagerly anticipated the release of DJI’s new drone. Unfortunately, my previous drone was confiscated during my trip to Rome. However, my patience has finally paid off as I recently acquired the Air 3s. In this article, I will provide an overview of my experience unboxing this highly anticipated drone.

    Unboxing the Drone

Upon receiving the package, I was excited to see what awaited inside. The packaging itself was sleek and eye-catching, indicating that this was no ordinary drone. After using the designated nodule to open the box, I carefully removed the plastic wrapping surrounding the drone.

    The Fly More Kit

To my delight, the package included the Fly More Kit. This kit provides additional accessories that enhance the overall drone experience. Inside, I found a stylish case, manual, charging cable, and even an extra cable for Android users or those utilizing iPads. The case itself was well-designed and offered a secure storage solution for the drone.

Now, let’s delve into the heart of this review – the drone itself. After re-zipping the case, I uncovered the drone and its accompanying components. Alongside the drone, there were a few extra propellers, a sleek controller, a battery charger, and a comfortable storage compartment.

    First Impressions

Immediately, I was struck by the craftsmanship and attention to detail evident in DJI’s Air 3s. The drone boasts a modern design and a sturdy build, instilling confidence in its performance. The propellers were easily attachable, emphasizing the user-friendly nature of the drone.

    Controller and Battery

The controller provided with the Air 3s is intuitive and ergonomic, allowing for easy manipulation of the drone’s movements. Additionally, the inclusion of a designated storage space for the drone’s battery showcased DJI’s commitment to organization and user convenience.

    Unwrapping the Controller

Just a little back your compartment so let’s go ahead and unwrap this controller first. Right now, there are two models available. They have the one with the screen. The cool thing about not having the screen is that if you have a screen, a lot of times you have to do this quick transfer mode where you can connect your phone to the actual controller after you fly. You can actually have some of your videos and photos cached into your phone. After you do the recording, you have to connect to the controller to get those caching images. Of course, you can also connect to your computer or get one of those SD card readers for serial device. And of course, you have your crawler pins right here through those on. So we can give it a test. Go okay, I’m gonna set this right here.

    Setting Up the Drone

If you have a hard time understanding how to set everything up, they have a QR code that you can scan with your phone. Next, let’s open up the battery. We got two batteries in here and then there’s a battery already in the Drone. So this is the plus of getting the fly more kit. You can charge your other batteries and still have a battery ready to fly. Here’s the power mode for charging, and look, it uses USB-C. There’s a button right here to actually eject your battery.

    Exploring the Drone

Now let’s get down to the Drone itself.

The DJI Air 3: Unboxing and Assembly Guide

When it comes to drones, the DJI Air 3 is a popular choice. In this article, we will guide you through the unboxing process and show you how to assemble this impressive device.

    Unboxing the Drone

The DJI Air 3 comes neatly packaged, and when you open the box, you will find the drone itself. However, you will notice that the propellers are not attached. Don’t worry, this is completely normal.

    Attaching the Propellers

To attach the propellers, you need to follow a specific pattern. Start by pulling out the unfolded propellers. However, before proceeding, it is important to note that the back propeller must be attached first. Take the back propeller and attach it to the corresponding slot on the drone.

    The Gimbal Guard

In order to protect the gimbal, there is a guard that needs to be unfastened. This guard is an important part of the drone and ensures the stability of the camera during flight. Simply unfasten the guard before proceeding.

    Applying the Propellers

Now, let’s move on to applying the remaining propellers. It is important to note that there are two types of propellers: propeller A and propeller B. Propeller A has a light gray circle, while propeller B has a dark black circle.

With the drone facing forward, take a propeller B and attach it to the front left and back right slots. These slots will have a “B” marking on them. Make sure to push the propeller into the ridge and twist it until it locks in place.

For propeller A, it should be attached to the front right and back left slots. Apply the propeller by following the same procedure as before.

The DJI Air 3: A Test Flight Experience

After fixing all four propellers, it was finally time to take the DJI Air 3 for a test flight. With eager anticipation, I picked up the RC controller and prepared for an exhilarating experience.

    Exploring the RC Controller

As I glanced at the RC controller, I noticed various options displayed on the screen. The sound emitting from it served as an indicator of my proximity to objects nearby. The color on the display, be it orange or red, helped me determine the distance between the drone and any potential obstacles.

On the right side of the screen, I found a selection of different options available to me. From capturing photos and videos to mastering various shots, the possibilities were endless. Each option had its own subcategories, catering to specific needs. Since I was interested in recording videos, I explored the choices of normal mode, night mode, and slow motion.

    Ascending into the Sky

As the drone slowly ascended into the sky, I toggled between night mode and normal mode to observe the difference in image quality. The vibrant colors of downtown Sunnyvale came into view, captivating my attention and allowing me to appreciate the beauty of the city from above. The sight of a flock of birds scattering as I flew over the area added to the awe-inspiring experience.

    Testing Zoom and Obstacle Avoidance

Continuing the test flight, I decided to try out the zoom feature. Not only did I want to capture close-up shots, but I also wanted to assess the drone’s obstacle avoidance capabilities. Skillfully maneuvering the drone, I was able to simultaneously observe its movements and admire the stunning view of downtown Sunnyvale. However, an unexpected event was about to unfold.

Overall, the test flight of the DJI Air 3 had been an exciting experience. From the RC controller’s versatile options to the breathtaking aerial views, every moment was filled with wonder. As the drone continues to soar through the sky, it promises to deliver astonishing footage and unforgettable memories.

Improvements in Drone Technology: The Advancement of Active Track

In the world of technology, drones have become increasingly popular for various purposes. From aerial photography to delivery services, these unmanned aerial vehicles have revolutionized the way we perceive and interact with our surroundings. One particular feature that has greatly improved over time is the Active Track function. This article delves into the advancements in Active Track and its benefits for drone users.

    The Limitations of Obstacle Avoidance

Previously, one of the downsides of using drones was their inability to detect obstacles and avoid collisions effectively. The obstacle avoidance system was not able to detect spaces between structures, which posed a potential risk to the drone and its surroundings. This limitation made it crucial for drone pilots to remain constantly aware of their flying location and any potential obstacles that may arise during their flight.

    Introduction to Active Track

Active Track has emerged as a game-changer in the drone industry, addressing the limitations of obstacle avoidance. This feature allows the drone to autonomously track and follow a designated subject or object in real-time, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted footage. With the advancements in this technology, drone users now have greater control and flexibility in capturing dynamic footage.

    Understanding Active Track Options

When using Active Track, drone pilots have a range of options to choose from based on their requirements. The options include b f, l, and R, which represent different tracking modes offered by the drone. For example, “b” may represent backward tracking, “f” denotes forward tracking, while “l” and “R” symbolize left and right tracking, respectively. By selecting the appropriate mode, drone pilots can dictate the movements and direction of the drone’s follow function.

    Improvements from Previous Models

It is important to note that Active Track has undergone notable improvements from previous drone models. In comparison to the DJI Air 2S and the Mini 3, the workflow and functionalities of Active Track have become more refined and user-friendly. The addition of directional follow in previous models has expanded the capabilities of Active Track, providing users with enhanced control over their drone’s tracking abilities.

    Testing Active Track Accuracy

During the testing phase of Active Track, drone users have observed its accuracy and reliability. The color indicator feature serves as a great aid, informing users of their proximity to objects or potential obstacles. However, it is essential to observe how well Active Track responds when the drone gets close to objects. In some instances, the drone may lose track of the subject momentarily, requiring slight adjustments from the user using the controller to assist the drone in locating the subject. Despite these minor hiccups, Active Track has proven to be a significant improvement over its predecessors.

In conclusion, the advancements in Active Track have transformed the way we capture footage with drones. The improved obstacle avoidance system and the range of tracking options have given drone pilots greater control and flexibility in their aerial photography or videography endeavors. As technology continues to progress, we can expect further improvements and enhancements in Active Track and other features, making drones an even more indispensable tool in various industries.

The DJI Air 3: A Drone Model That Takes Active Tracking to a New Level

When it comes to drones, there are countless models on the market, each with their unique features and capabilities. However, not all drones are created equal, and some models undoubtedly stand out from the rest. The DJI Air 3 is one such drone that not only performs exceptionally well but also takes active tracking to a whole new level.

    Improved Active Track Functionality

One feature that sets the DJI Air 3 apart from its competitors is its active track functionality. While other models may give up or struggle to maintain accurate tracking, the DJI Air 3 excels in this department. The active track feature allows the drone to effortlessly follow a subject, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted footage.

That being said, as someone who has had experience flying drones, I still exercise caution. There have been instances where I felt that I was pushing the limits and risking a potential crash. In such cases, I have personally opted to turn off the active track feature temporarily. Nevertheless, overall, the active track function of the DJI Air 3 has shown significant improvement.

Packing Up the DJI Air 3

After a successful drone flight, it’s essential to pack up your equipment properly to ensure its safety and longevity. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to pack up the DJI Air 3:

    1. Fold the propellers carefully.
    2. Tuck the folded propellers securely.
    3. Apply the guard to the front sensors.
    4. Tuck the guard in.
    5. Apply the gimbal cover for added protection.
    6. Safely put away all other accessories.

By following these steps, you’ll keep your DJI Air 3 in top condition and ready for your next adventure.

    Exciting Drone Adventures to Come

I would like to thank everyone for watching my unboxing video of the DJI Air 3. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend getting your hands on this incredible drone. Conclusion

Overall, my first impressions of DJI’s Air 3s drone have been overwhelmingly positive. From the sleek packaging to the well-designed accessories, it is evident that DJI prioritizes user experience and satisfaction. I am excited to explore the capabilities of this drone and capture stunning aerial footage. With the Air 3s, DJI has once again proven why they are a leader in the drone market.

Now that you have successfully attached all the propellers, your DJI Air 3 is ready for flight. It is important to read the instruction manual thoroughly and familiarize yourself with the controls and features of the drone before taking it out for a spin.

Remember, practice makes perfect, so take your time to get accustomed to flying the drone before attempting any advanced maneuvers. Happy flying!
