The GepRC CineLog25 v2: A Powerful and Portable FPV Drone
The GepRC CineLog25 v2 is an impressive FPV drone that offers users a range of features and capabilities. With its all3 air unit, it is the larger sibling of the Syoc 20, a drone that I recently reviewed on my channel. What sets the CineLog25 v2 apart from its smaller counterpart is its size, power, and speed.
Enhanced Features for a Better Flying Experience
One of the standout features of the CineLog25 v2 is its ability to carry a camera on top of it. With a vibration dampening system in place, users can capture smooth and steady footage. This is particularly useful when flying through gaps and enables users to perform aerial acrobatics with ease. Having used this drone for the past couple of weeks, I can attest to its impressive performance.
CineLog25 v2 vs. Darkstar 20: The Main Differences
Now, you might be wondering why you should choose the CineLog25 v2 over Gap RC’s latest announcement, the Darkstar 20. The Darkstar 20 is a 2-inch quadcopter equipped with the out3 unit, similar to the CineLog25 v2. However, it is significantly smaller. While this makes it more portable and capable of navigating through tighter spaces, there are a few key differences to consider.
The first difference lies in the size itself. The CineLog25 v2 is larger and offers a more substantial presence in the air. This can enhance stability and control, especially in outdoor environments. On the other hand, the Darkstar 20’s compact size may make it more appealing to those seeking a highly portable option.
Durability: The Trade-off
Another notable difference between the two drones is their durability. The CineLog25 v2 features a plastic construction, which may not be as robust as some users would prefer. While the frame is relatively rigid, it does have its limits. With enough force, it is possible to snap it into two pieces. On the other hand, the Darkstar 20 boasts a sturdier build, ensuring it can withstand rougher handling.
Ultimately, the choice between these two drones comes down to personal preference and specific use cases. The CineLog25 v2 offers a larger and more powerful flying experience, making it ideal for those who prioritize performance. However, if portability and maneuverability are paramount, the Darkstar 20 may be the better option.
The GepRC CineLog25 v2 is an impressive FPV drone with a range of features that enhance the flying experience. While it may not be as durable as some other options, its larger size and increased power make it a standout choice for those looking to take their aerial adventures to new heights.
The Durability and Design of the GepRC Cinelog25 v2
When it comes to drones, durability is always a concern. This is where the GepRC Cinelog25 v2 truly shines. Made from carbon fiber, this tiny FPV drone is not only stylish but also incredibly durable. Unlike other drones, this one can withstand crashes with ease, thanks to its sturdy frame and ducts.
One of the standout features of the Cinelog25 v2 is the foam padding on the sides. This additional layer of protection ensures that even if you have a minor crash, the foam will be the first to absorb the impact. This means that the only damage you might incur is to the foam itself, rather than the entire frame.
Perfect for Indoor and Outdoor Flying
The GepRC Cinelog25 v2 is a versatile drone that can be used for both indoor and outdoor flying. However, there are some differences between the Darkstar 20 and the Cinelog25 v2. The Darkstar 20 is primarily designed for indoor flying, while the Cinelog25 v2 comes with more powerful motors that make it suitable for outdoor flights.
With its powerful motors, the Cinelog25 v2 is capable of performing acrobatic movements that would be challenging to achieve with other drones. Whether you’re performing flips or flying at high speeds, this drone is up to the task.
Battery Life and Storage
Another area where the GepRC Cinelog25 v2 excels is battery life. Unlike some other drones, this one has a dedicated notch for the battery, which is conveniently placed under the drone. This design not only saves space but also ensures that the battery stays securely in place during flights.
Moreover, the Cinelog25 v2 features internally placed components, providing ample space on top. This space not only allows you to choose a battery of your choice but also gives you the option to mount a camera on top. With the added vibration dampening system, the footage captured by the drone will be smooth and visually appealing.

A Toy or a Specialized Tool?
At first glance, the GepRC Cinelog25 v2 may seem like a toy or a drone designed for specific uses. Its small size makes it ideal for situations where the smallest drone possible is needed. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that this drone is more than just a plaything. In fact, it is a versatile tool that can be utilized in various scenarios, making it a valuable asset for any drone enthusiast.
Improved Design and Features
This version of the Cinelog25 v2 is an upgrade from its predecessor. It boasts an upgraded flight controller, more powerful internals, and better motors, resulting in a vastly improved overall experience. The inclusion of the O3 air unit enhances its performance even further, making it a delight to fly.
Testing its Agility
I took the GepRC Cinelog25 v2 for a spin in a bando, which is known to be the ultimate test for a drone. I wanted to see how nimble it would be in navigating through tight spaces and maneuvering around obstacles. To my delight, it performed exceptionally well, surpassing my expectations and impressing me with its agility and responsiveness.
No Need for Extra Weight
Unlike other drones, I don’t plan on attaching an additional camera to the GepRC Cinelog25 v2. Instead, I prefer to make use of the built-in out3 camera. This allows me to extract the most out of the drone without adding unnecessary weight, ensuring a smoother flight experience.
The Ultimate Daily Companion
Overall, the GepRC Cinelog25 v2 is a highly commendable FPV drone. Its compact size and enhanced features make it an ideal choice for anyone in need of a small drone for everyday use. Whether you’re a casual hobbyist or a seasoned drone pilot, this drone will undoubtedly meet your expectations and provide you with endless hours of fun and excitement.

Rc drones with a vibration dampening system are truly remarkable. The GepRC Cinelog25 v2 is one such drone that offers exceptional performance straight out of the box, thanks to its soft-mounted camera. With minimal vibrations, the footage captured by this drone appears smooth and professional.
Outstanding Footage and Stability
When using the GepRC Cinelog25 v2, I was extremely satisfied with the results. The footage it produced was of high quality, and the drone remained stable during flights. Additionally, when paired with gyro flow stabilization in post-processing, the final footage looked even more impressive. This drone truly surpassed my expectations.
Flexible Color Profiles for Versatile Filming
I tested various color profiles when using the GepRC Cinelog25 v2. Shooting in a flat color profile allowed me to extract even more details from the footage during post-processing. However, I also had great results when using auto settings and adjusting them manually based on the specific environment and lighting conditions. This flexibility allowed me to capture stunning footage in different locations and situations.
Superior Protection and Durability
Compared to other drones of a similar size, such as the iight defender 25, the GepRC Cinelog25 v2 offers better protection and durability. The carbon fiber body and foam around the ducts provide enhanced resistance to crashes and impacts. This means that even during larger crashes, the frame remains intact, ensuring long-lasting performance and saving you from frequent repairs.
The GepRC Cinelog25 v2 is a great competitor in the market of 2.5-inch drones. Its exceptional performance, combined with its durable construction, sets it apart from other drones in its class. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced drone pilot, this tiny FPV drone will surely impress you with its capabilities and overall awesomeness.
The GepRC Cinelog25 v2 Review
Battery Compatibility
When it comes to comparing the GepRC Cinelog25 v2 with other drones like The Defender 25, it stands out as the winner. While The Defender 25 is a great all-in-one solution that comes with its own specific batteries, the Cinelog25 v2 offers more flexibility. It is a 4S drone, which means you can use any 4S battery ranging from 600 to 800 milliamp hours. In my case, I am using the 850mAh batteries from China hobby line, specifically the ministar batteries. These batteries provide me with approximately 5 minutes of flight time per battery, which is more than sufficient for a drone of this size.
No Major Complaints
In my opinion, there is very little negative to say about the GepRC Cinelog25 v2. The only minor issue I noticed right out of the box was the OSD (On-Screen Display) which displayed the name of the drone right in the middle of my screen. This was a bit uncomfortable during my initial flights, especially when flying in a tight space like a Bando. It is not necessary for the OSD to display the name of the drone, and I’m not sure why companies continue to include it. However, this is easily fixable by accessing the OSD settings and removing the drone’s name from the display.
It’s like you don’t know what you’re flying, that’s my only complaint. But other than that, the rates were great straight out of the box. I only put a little bit of Expo to have smoother movements. The drone flew fantastically overall.
Different Prices and Models
Let’s talk about the prices of the drone. There are different models available, depending on the VTX (Video Transmitter) you want to use. There’s the O3, the WASP version, and the analog drone. In this review, we will focus on the O3 air unit, which is what I am using. However, I will provide a link in the description if you want to check out other systems and their prices.
The Prices
This specific drone comes with the elrs receiver, and it will cost you $51.99, which is pretty much the norm nowadays. The O3 is a bit more expensive than the Vista. If you don’t need a receiver, you can use the DJI remote, which will make the drone a little bit cheaper. Additionally, you can also get this exact drone with a GPS module if you prefer.

The GPS module can be added to the bundle for an additional $10.
Customization and Flexibility
The GepRC Cinelog25 v2 stands out due to its customization options. Unlike the defender 25, which requires specific components, this drone allows users to use a separate camera and choose different batteries. This makes it a versatile and convenient option for those looking for a regular FPV drone.
Functionality and Performance
The GepRC Cinelog25 v2 delivers impressive performance that drone enthusiasts will appreciate. It is not designed for long-range flying, but that doesn’t take away from its overall capabilities. With its compact size and agile controls, this drone offers a fun and enjoyable flying experience.
