The Carrying Case and Contents
The Teledyne FLIR SIRAS drone comes with a convenient carrying case, which is a backpack-style bag. This makes it easy to transport the drone to different locations, especially for those involved in search and rescue missions. The carrying case is durable and allows you to comfortably carry the drone on your back.
Opening the Carrying Case
Let’s now open the backpack carrying case and see what’s inside. The package includes all the parts necessary to operate the drone and conduct a thorough review. Undoing the straps, we can finally take a closer look at everything.
Battery Setup
The package includes two batteries for the drone. This setup is particularly useful as the batteries are hot swappable. This means you can replace the batteries while the drone is still on, without interrupting its operation. However, for the purposes of this review, the manufacturer only sent one set of batteries. We will have to manage with this limited supply throughout the review process.
Testing and Review Process
With the Teledyne FLIR SIRAS drone unboxed, we are now ready to begin testing and reviewing its capabilities. We will put the drone through its paces and closely examine its features and performance. The thermal imaging technology of the drone is of particular interest as it offers unique benefits in various fields, such as search and rescue operations.
Unboxing the Teledyne FLIR SIRAS Thermal Drone
Upon receiving the Teledyne FLIR SIRAS thermal drone, we were eager to unbox it and explore its features. The package included various components that we carefully examined.
Smart Light Indicator
The first thing we noticed was the smart light indicator, which provides information about the battery charge. Although we were unsure of its purpose initially, we resolved to consult the user manual for more information.
Two Batteries and Cables
The package contained two batteries, enabling us to have longer flight sessions without interruptions. Additionally, there were several cables provided. One of them was a USB to USB BC cable, which we deduced could be used for charging the drone’s controller. We set it aside for now.
Power Supply Wire and Plug
There was also a plug included in the package, which we assumed was meant for a specific component of the drone. Considering its shape and size, it seemed to be a power supply wire or plug. We set it aside for further investigation.
Battery Charger
A battery charger was among the components in the package. It appeared to be the designated device for charging the drone’s batteries. We noticed an on/off switch on the charger, suggesting it had a power control feature. We connected the power cable to the charger to prepare for the charging process.
The charger had a unique design with small rubber feet. It was a bit challenging to remove them, but after some effort, we were able to do so. We then inserted the battery into the charger, aligning it with the keying on the device. The keying had notches on one side, indicating the correct orientation for inserting the battery.
With the battery properly placed, we plugged in the charger and observed that it started charging the battery. The little rubber foot was placed back in position, completing the setup.
Overall, the unboxing process of the Teledyne FLIR SIRAS thermal drone revealed the various components necessary for its operation. We were excited to delve into the user manual and explore the drone’s capabilities further.

Accessories and Features
This looks like yeah, maybe guide stickers looks like perhaps it tells you where things go where to put them. I’m not sure what you would use these for. I’ve never seen anything like this. I’ve not used a lot of Enterprise level drones, either though so, it’s very likely.
These have a purpose, but what it is that’s beyond me beats the heck out of me. It looks like maybe we have everything taken care of in terms of accessories. There wasn’t a whole lot to it, that’s not necessarily a bad thing but certainly something to note is the looks like the base package perhaps does not come with a whole heck of a lot.
Controller and Drone
So now we just have the controller and the drone, let’s go ahead, pull the controller out. Our antenna comes up like that and then oh, we have a nice little rubberized section in here for the controls, it’s got a really nice feel to it as well. I’m assuming this runs on an Android OS, we’ll turn it on and see. I’m not going to remove that in case for some reason, they’d want to sell this unit. I don’t know that there are a lot of scenarios where they would do that. What’s this down here? Just packaging, looks like maybe for one of the cables, we’ll go ahead and throw that away.
Controller starting up, everything looks good yeah. It looks like this is an Android OS that we’re working with here, so that’s cool. Looks like we have our flight app here, maybe yep.

Connecting and Exploring the Features
Upon unboxing the Teledyne FLIR SIRAS drone, the first step is to connect it to the controller. The drone comes with an HDMI out on the top, which proves to be useful in search and rescue applications. However, opening the drone can be a bit challenging without the aid of fingernails. Nevertheless, once opened, the drone reveals an ethernet connection and an HDMI out, allowing for easy connection to a larger display. This feature enables more people to have a better view of what the controller captures.
Controller Features and Functionality
The controller for the Teledyne FLIR SIRAS drone is well-built and lightweight. It comes with a USBC cable for charging and a small port for mounting the controller on a tripod. The added tripod feature eliminates the need to hold the controller during operation. Despite its sturdy construction, the controller does not feel too heavy, making it convenient to handle. Additionally, there is a USB A micro SD card slot, providing an option to capture data directly from the controller itself.
Unboxing the Teledyne FLIR SIRAS Drone
Put that away put that off to the side now the cudra, the P resistance, the Cirrus from tadine Fleer. Oh this isn’t. How I expected this to come out at all, looks like we have rubber bands keeping. Oh, I see the arms fold. Okay, I’m going to move this bag out of the way so that we can get a good look at the Cirrus.
Setting up the Drone
Okay, so we’ve got the Cirrus on the table here. Um let’s go ahead and just see what we can do. So it looks like the legs fold up, oh and then there’s a notch in that little spinner and that locks the legs okay, so you have to just push it over the notch go ahead and do all four see what this looks like all set up. It’s fairly easy, I mean the notch system isn’t ideal cuz it’s kind of hard to see them, but it’s not too bad. I imagine if you ran through this a few times, you’d eventually get the hang of it or it’d be very quick camera did I miss something.
The Camera and Payload System
There’s got to be something to that. Let’s get this unfolded and then we’ll revisit the camera. The payload system, I can’t imagine they sent me a drone uh without a camera to review as well. I know it has a really awesome thermal sensor that comes with it so we’ll take a look. So looks like you just fold these rubber bands off here, they’re, heavy duty rubber bands.
