There are options and functions for that on the controller, so I don’t have to always have my hands on the controller. In fact, there were moments where I was testing this drone out. If I wanted to adjust my goggles or talk to someone, I didn’t have to go all the way back home and land. My drone, which is something I would have to do, or else I’d run out of battery – I could just hit that button boom. It goes into mavic hold mode and just sits there. That is so crazy to me that it can do that because I’ve never been able to do that with FPV. This thing is providing so much luxury for what it is.

The DJI Avata 2: A Game-Changer for FPV Drones

This thing it just works together with the goggles 3 DJI’s newest addition to the goggles lineup, the FPV controller 3, which is the most akin to the FPV drone controllers. We use on a regular basis and the real deal bringer for beginners and people who are just wanting to get into FPV without the huge learning curve of manual mode.

    A Beginner’s Dream: RC Motion 3 Controller

The RC Motion 3 controller I’ve put this thing into the hands of a couple people already who have never flown FPV before and just within a couple of minutes of instruction they’re already up and flying in a way that would have taken me. I mean like a week or something to learn how to do in the actual manual mode. The fact that you just hit a gap on your first flight is freaking insane.

    Simplicity and Accessibility for All

You do not get this kind of simplicity when you are building and flying custom FPV drones. I think the draw of FPV is really how fantastic and out of life that these shots look and a lot of the turn offs is how much of a learning curve it is to be able to start flying in that way. But with these controllers, with this RC Motion 3, even people who’ve never flown before, can now enjoy at least like 70 of what FPV has to offer, which is the storing and the fast-paced motion flying that you would want in your shots.

Exciting Possibilities with Main FPV Drone Setups

Here’s the thing I’m most excited about using this guy with my main FPV drone setups like this Cinema, I am looking through the O3 air unit, which is pretty nice.

    Improved Sensor for Clearer Picture

The DJI Avata 2 comes equipped with a 1 over 1.3 inch sensor, which is larger than the 03 air units. This means that you can now see exactly what you are capturing in the picture, making it ideal for precise movements and shots. This upgrade ensures a clearer picture quality compared to its predecessors.

    Extended Battery Life

One of the notable features of the DJI Avata 2 is its extended battery life. With a 4S 2150 milliamp battery, the drone can hover for over 23 minutes and fly in FPV mode for around 10 to 12 minutes. This is a significant improvement from traditional LiPO batteries which only last for 3 to 6 minutes.

    Missing Frame Rate Option

While the DJI Avata 2 offers impressive features, one downside is the absence of a 24 frames per second option. Currently, the drone only supports frame rates down to 30, which might not be ideal for cinematic purposes. However, this limitation can potentially be resolved with a software update in the future.

    Comparing with GoPro

Read moreWORST FPV DRONE EVER (Not Clickbait) DJI Avata

In terms of video quality, the DJI Avata 2 films in 4K but may not match the standard set by GoPro cameras. The experience of shooting with the Avata 2 is likened to using old point-and-shoot cameras, where you hope for the best without seeing through the lens. Despite this, the Avata 2’s sensor upgrade ensures a more accurate representation of the captured footage.

    Customization and Modding Limitations

Unfortunately, if it comes to modding and improving the Drone, you cant really do that, because DJI keeps everything DJI, however, because they keep it like that everything that they build works really well in tandem for my custom, fpv drone builds.

    Camera Fixation and Angle Adjustments

For example, its a fixed camera. Well, technologically theres, no gimbal or Motors that are controlling the camera from going up and down, and so really you kind of have to fix it at one level and hope that that will do you good for the whole flight. But there are occasions where I would like to fly faster, which means Id like to have a higher camera angle and not zero. But I cant do that mid flight Id have to change it and that really messes with the dynamic of what youre capturing. But with this thing, because DJI has built the gimbal into the Drone, you can now adjust the tilt on the controller which thats actually a huge step forward.

    Flight Modes and Altitude Hold

Once again, with these custom built fpv drones, you are looking at pretty much fully manual mode, theres, an angle mode. However, its still not like altitude hold, you have to always have your hands on the sticks, or else thing is going to fly away its going to turn over its going to crash, but because DJI once again is DJI theyve built their really really accurate altitude hold And position holding with GPS into these drones.

    Cost Effective Option

I actually don’t know how much it cost, let’s take a look. The avat 2 fly more combo with three batteries is $1200. I thought it was going to be a lot more. I will say, though, I don’t think that comes with the FPV controller, so after you buy once you buy the FPV Remote 3, it’s going to a total about $1400, so it’ll be about the same.

    Modern Setup

When people are asking me to get into FPV for filming and professional purposes, I always direct them into the digital setup, something that’s a little bit more modern. I’ll ask them to get an O3 Air unit with a compatible controller, goggles, drone battery charger. All of this usually amalgamates to about $1500.

    Luxurious Features

There are options and functions for that on the controller, so I don’t have to always have my hands on the controller. In fact, there were moments where I was testing this drone out. If I wanted to adjust my goggles or talk to someone, I didn’t have to go all the way back home and land. My drone, which is something I would have to do, or else I’d run out of battery – I could just hit that button boom. It goes into mavic hold mode and just sits there. That is so crazy to me that it can do that because I’ve never been able to do that with FPV. This thing is providing so much luxury for what it is.

    RC Motion vs. FPV Remote

You’ll have at least both the RC motion 3 and the FPV remote 3, for when you want to switch from beginner mode to flying around for fun. Let your friends fly to going manual mode where you can actually have a lot more control. You can do Acro movements, split ass, dive 1400 for the top-of-the-line technology.

    Starting with a Lower Budget

If you want to get into FPV on a lower budget, you can start with a really cheap remote, buy a simulator, practice it with a tiny whoop. A couple of hundred dollars and you’re good to go.

    The Perfect Investment

However, if you want something that is good for learning, safe, and has obstacle sensors built into it, so you can fly it like a normal drone and gradually work your way up, DJI Avata 2 might just be the perfect investment for you.

    Practice and Safety

It’s important to practice in a simulator and push your limits. Investing in DJI refresh care can save you from paying a hefty amount if you break the drone. Remember, crashing is part of the FPV game, so practice and enjoy the learning process. NOW is indeed the time to start with FPV drones and explore the amazing world of aerial photography and videography!

    Introduction of DJI Evat 2

Multiple drone companies have been sending me parts and honestly they’ve been great. However, since the Newbie drone Cinema, I don’t think I’ve received anything where I felt like wow. This is going to be a permanent addition to my Arsenal. Until this thing, I know it doesn’t do everything, however, just because of how smart and how all-in-one encompassing this package is, I see myself using it a lot more so expect videos with more honest reviews about these continuing forward.

    Smart and All-In-One Package

The DJI Evat 2 is truly a remarkable piece of technology. It offers a wide range of features that make it both user-friendly and versatile. Its all-in-one design makes it easy to use, even for beginners, while still offering advanced capabilities for more experienced users. This drone is not just a toy; it’s a powerful tool that can capture stunning aerial footage with ease.

    Exciting Potential for Videos

With the DJI Evat 2, the possibilities for creating dynamic and engaging videos are endless. Whether you’re a content creator looking to add an extra dimension to your work, or simply a hobbyist wanting to capture stunning aerial shots, this drone has got you covered. Its advanced camera capabilities and stable flight performance ensure that you can capture high-quality footage every time.

    Conclusion

Overall, the DJI Avata 2 is a promising option for those looking to start their journey into FPV drones. With improved battery life, clearer picture quality, and potential software updates to address any limitations, the Avata 2 offers a compelling choice for drone enthusiasts. While it may not match the performance of high-end cameras like GoPro, the Avata 2 provides a good balance of features for beginners and experienced users alike.

Let me know your thoughts on the DJI Evat 2 if you think you’re going to get it. The time to start FPV drones is now, and with the DJI Evat 2 leading the pack in terms of innovation and performance, there’s never been a better time to get started. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to take your aerial photography and videography to the next level with this incredible drone.
