Today, we are excited to review the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 FPV drone, a new offering from Avion RC. The unboxing experience of the drone is super simple and straightforward. Inside the box, you will find the drone itself, along with three instructions and two sets of HQ DT 63 by4 propellers – one for the drone and one as a spare.

    Design and Build

The Avionrc Ikon 2.5 drone measures at 121 mm motor to motor and weighs 135g with the propellers on. The drone features a 2mm carbon frame at the top and 3mm at the bottom, making it sturdy yet lightweight. It is a unibody design with minimal flex, which is suitable for a 2.5-inch drone. The drone comes pre-installed with a battery strap and anti-slip battery pad.

The Avionrc Ikon 2.5 comes with an O3 camera installed, but on the website, there are options for a naked version, analog version, and a version without a camera. This gives users the flexibility to customize the drone according to their preferences and needs.

    TPU 3D Printed Parts

All the white parts on the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 drone are made of TPU and are 3D printed. The TPU used is of the harder variety, providing durability and protection to the drone’s components. The TPU parts add an extra layer of customization and protection to the drone.

    High-Quality Components

The Avionrc Ikon 2.5 comes equipped with brother hobby 1404 4600 KV motors and a JH MCU F7 flight controller with 40 amp ESC. The motors feel notchy and are rated for up to 4S, but the drone can handle up to 6S. This combination of components provides a powerful and reliable flying experience.

After some initial concerns about the stiffness of the O3, the drone is finally ready to fly. With a recommended battery range of 550-850 milliamps, the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 performs exceptionally well. The drone is lightweight at 200-35g and offers a smooth and stable flight experience.

    Design and Build

While the frame design may not be to everyone’s liking, the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 does a great job of keeping the propellers out of sight during flight. This design feature helps to improve the overall aesthetics of the drone and provides a cleaner view from the onboard camera.

    Impressive Tuning

Despite being on its first flight, the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 demonstrates impressive tuning right out of the box. The drone hovers effortlessly in the air, thanks to its four-bladed propellers that provide excellent thrust. The drone also operates quietly, with a low pitch noise that adds to the overall flying experience.

    Impressive Flight Performance

The Avionrc Ikon 2.5 is a drone that surprises with its amazing flight capabilities despite its small size. With an 850 milliamp battery, it delivers a smooth and steady flight that feels almost weightless. The absence of jello effect during flight adds to its impressive performance, making it a joy to fly.

    Control and Stability

Even with its compact size, the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 offers exceptional control and stability in the air. The drone comes down smoothly and straight, showcasing its well-tuned design. The responsiveness of the drone, along with its controllability, makes it one of the best drones in its category.

    Maneuverability and Agility

Despite its size, the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 is surprisingly fast and agile in the air. Its ability to pull off quick maneuvers and flips adds an element of fun to flying this drone. With a well-balanced battery and well-tuned controls, the drone offers a thrilling flying experience for pilots of all levels.

    Adjustments for Optimal Performance

While the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 performs impressively out of the box, some adjustments can be made to enhance its performance further. Adding a bit of expo and fine-tuning the rates can greatly improve the drone’s control and maneuverability. These adjustments make a world of difference in the overall flying experience, providing pilots with a more responsive and enjoyable flight.

    Impressive Flight Performance

The Avionrc Ikon 2.5 drone flies incredibly well, surprising the pilot with its stable flight and lack of Jello effect. Even with the pilot feeling a bit rusty, the drone’s top rates are very fast, requiring some adjustment to reduce them. The tuning of this tiny drone is impeccable, allowing for a smooth and enjoyable flying experience.

    Efficiency and Battery Life

Despite its small size, the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 drone proves to be quite efficient in terms of battery usage. With a 720 milliampere high-voltage battery, the drone can provide up to five minutes of flight time. The drone’s lightweight design, weighing only 209 grams with the battery, allows for agile flying and the potential to mount additional accessories like a GoPro.

    Silent and Reliable

One of the standout features of the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 drone is its silent operation, making it an ideal choice for flights in quiet or residential areas. The drone’s well-tuned performance and stability ensure a smooth flying experience, even for pilots who may not be at their best that day.

    Lightweight and Agile Performance

Okay, you can see now it’s much lighter hovers at 29, which is, I expected less but again, super super floaty feeling its crazy and, of course, much more agile, it’s like 25 G, less with this battery…

    Flight Characteristics

When I push, you see low battery warning pop up, so maybe it’s better to use a bigger battery, it’s still tame, picks up very quickly. Super agile drone, wow, I mean these little Acro reps are too much fun.

    Unique Design

This Avionrc Ikon 2.5 is a good size, similar to toothpicks, but with the added feature of recording capabilities. The drone is both lightweight and functional, offering a great flying experience for drone enthusiasts.

    Optimized Performance

The drone is surprisingly silent compared to other models, making for a more enjoyable and immersive flying experience. With the ability to adjust Expo settings, users can customize their flight controls to suit their preferences.

    Amazing Flight Performance

The Avionrc Ikon 2.5 is a tiny FPV drone that packs a punch when it comes to flight performance. With perfect tuning, this drone flies amazingly well, staying stable and responsive in the air. It is one of the best flying drones tested by enthusiasts.

    Durable Design

While the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 flies exceptionally well, its propellers can be a bit brittle, especially when flying in outdoor environments. Despite this, the drone is surprisingly durable and can withstand minor crashes and collisions.

    Battery Performance

With a 720 milliampere-hour HV battery, the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 can provide a flight time of around 4 minutes. By flying conservatively, users can extend this flight time, making it suitable for capturing cinematic footage or carrying a naked GoPro.

    Optimal Speed and Agility

For those looking to push the limits of the Avionrc Ikon 2.5, it can handle high speeds and agile maneuvers. By flying at a slower pace, users can maximize the drone’s flight time and enjoy a smoother experience while capturing aerial shots.

    Overall Impression

Despite its minor drawbacks, such as the propeller durability, the Avionrc Ikon 2.5 is a remarkable FPV drone that offers outstanding flight performance and durability. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced pilot, this tiny drone is sure to impress with its agility and stability in the air.

    Flying Performance and Agility

If you fly cinematic, if you start pushing two 3 minutes with h with all the extra weight in the front, which I mean is not bad, is one of the lightest 2.5 in O3 carrying drone. So far, of course, if you dont use the O3 and if you use a cadex Vista, maybe even the naked one or analog, you will be looking at much longer flight time and much more agility time. For my final opinion on the Avion icon, 2.5 in so I dont have anything to say about this. Drone it Fly is incredibly good, one of the best flying at this size, I have to say the tuning from the factory incredibly good, very, very good job. Its smooth, its also kind of silent and wow, it seems like it.

    Nitpicks and Positives

Doesnt have old jell, also so its a very nice little cinematic drone stealthy one and it can probably rip in aando as well. I dont have negatives, except maybe some nit picks. You can see a little bit of the frame up top on the camera when you put it at 43 and it will be probably be stabilized way, but I wish it wasnt there, its a n pick cuz. It also offers some protection, so its always give and take with these things and um the propellers. They are good, they are smooth, they are silent, grippy, nothing to say HQ always makes good propellers, but I mean they very very very easily so be sure to buy a couple extra set of propellers, because if you start crashing youre going to run through them a Lot.

The Avionrc Ikon 2.5: A Tiny FPV Drone with Amazing Flying Abilities

The Avionrc Ikon 2.5 is a tiny FPV drone that may be small in size, but it packs a powerful punch when it comes to performance. Despite its compact design, this drone is capable of amazing aerial maneuvers and provides an immersive flying experience for pilots of all skill levels.
